Mitch Parkinson’s cheeky response to uncle Joel Parkinson dropping in on him at Snapper Rocks

Former world surf champion Joel Parkinson got a rude shock when he tried to drop in on none other than his own nephew at the world famous Snapper Rocks break and losing his board in the process. Watch the mid-wave battle here.

IT is rare for anyone to upstage former world surfing champion Joel Parkinson at his home break at Snapper Rocks but his nephew has done it with ease.

Mitch Parkinson got the better of his uncle and delivered some lighthearted payback when the latter dropped in on his wave on Tuesday, with The Daily Surf catching it all on film.

The 25-year-old waited for Joel to come out of the barrel before plucking his board right from under his feet, sending the former world tour surfer into the ocean.

But he wasn’t done. Mitch proceeded to swap his board for Joel’s mid-wave while Dolphins watched on.

Eleven-time world champion Kelly Slater posted the video on Instagram with the caption: “I always knew @JoelParko would be on the best ride ever at Snapper, I just didn’t think he would be the victim! A dolphin even joins the celebration. @Mitchparkinson for the win!
