Schoolgirl Blockbuster to start livestream Titans Schools League league

Marsden SHS and Keebra Park SHS schoolgirls will open the Titans Schools League season tomorrow in a blockbuster to be livestreamed at www.couriermail.com.au and the Gold Coast Bulletin.

Marsden SHS and Keebra Park SHS schoolgirls will open the Titans Schools League season tomorrow in a blockbuster to be livestreamed at www.couriermail.com.au and the Gold Coast Bulletin.

The www.couriermail.com.au and Gold Coast Bulletin will livestream six games across two matches each Wednesday in a competition which has seen record growth.

Tomorrow’s fixtures feature the schoolgirls clash between Marsden SHS and Keebra Park SHS from 2pm when year 7-8 open the competition, followed by more livestreaming of year 9-10 and the open’s encounter. The second allotment of games being livestream will be three schoolboy matches between Keebra Park and Marymount from 5pm.

The Marsden-Keebra Park open’s schoolgirls game features outstanding rising talent.

Marsden SHS has Queensland seven-a-side representative Ana Drotini playing centre, Atlanta Peters at halfback or fullback and will also have Souths Logan under 19 captain Oshanis Whakatau.

Countering them will be Keebra Park players Skyla Adams, Chantay Ratu, Anne-Marie Ratu, Sunny Gerrard and Faith Tutauha.

Skyla, Chantay and Anne-Marie all represented Queensland in Rugby 7’s earlier in the year.

Off the field the girls’ school program at Marsden now includes former NRL player and Jillaroos assistant coach Jamie Feeney.

At Keebra Park, Broncos player and Jillaroo Chelsea Lenarduzzi joins Broncos premiership winning speed merchant Tamika Upton as Keebra Park’s coaches. Nathan Small, again heads up the overall Girls Sport Academy

“We have been very fortunate through our pathway and relationship with the Burleigh Bears to have access to these two high level players,’’ Small said.

“They bring with them the experience and insight that is needed to play at the pinnacle of Rugby League as well as desire to give back to grassroots football.

“Chelsea has been with us for a few years now and Tamika has joined her this year.

In the year 9-10 girls age group, Tavarna Papalii, Imogen Hei, Taylah Fuiava and twins Ebony and Skye Raftstrand-Smith are standouts for Keebra Park.

Meanwhile, the Marsden SHS open boys will be spearheaded by Cruz Taputoa (halfback),

Kees Cassidy (prop), Dylan Gallagher (backrow) and Mana Whakatau (Meninga).

A record number of teams from across the Gold Coast through Logan and out to Ipswich SHS, Stretton College and Forest Lake SHS will take part.

“The Titans partnership with News Corp to livestream provides the competition with the opportunity to showcase local grassroots school rugby league on a national platform,’’ Robb said.

The Titans Cup is the start of months of livestreaming by News, who in June will start coverage of the Langer Cup.
