Patrician Brothers Fairfield have sent a message to their NRL Schoolboy Cup rivals after producing a crushing win against Farrer MAHS.

A blistering first half performance from Patrician Brothers Fairfield co-captain Joshua Alhazim helped set up a dominant NRL Schoolboy Cup win over Farrer MAHS in Tamworth.

Patrician Brothers’ class prevailed as Farrer struggled to keep up with the rampaging visitors who stormed into the second round of the prestigious competition with a 40-14 win on Wednesday.

Parramatta’s Harold Matthews Cup star Alhazim was in everything in the opening 30 minutes, with the backrower scoring the first try of the game, putting on several big hits and producing plenty of damaging carries.

A string of Patties’ play-the-ball errors kept the Tamworth locals in the contest although they were struggling to capitalise on their early chances.

Alhazim’s dominant presence drew in the Farrer defensive line that led to an easy off-load to Perosi Papalii in the corner.

Down 10-0, the vocal Farrer crowd was doing everything they could to keep their team in the contest.

They finally answered when impressive five-eighth Ethan Antzakles threw an amazing cutout pass reminiscent of Benji Marshall to set up winger Max Symons.

The visitors were able to extend their lead on the stroke of halftime with a penalty goal nailed by Taj’h Colquhoun.

The Tamworth side desperately needed to score the opening second half try and they did in emphatic fashion, with an Ethan Antzakles cross-field impressively taken by a charging Logan Spinks who beat three defenders and scored.

With only two-points in it, coach Frank Pritchard’s men hit back hard and lightning-fast fullback Colquhoun scored off a kick return stepping his way through the Farrer line.

The Fairfield boys put the nail in the coffin scoring instantly off the restart, set up by Terence Lafai with a show-and-go to put Perosi Papalii in the for his second try.

Matthew Alhazim, the brother of the rampaging Fairfield Patrician Brothers co-captain, was able to make a play of his own scoring off an impressive line break.
