Marcellin College and Domremy College took the senior honours on a big day of water polo action at the Sydney Catholic Schools finals. Relive all the action from Ruth Everuss Aquatic Centre.

Marcellin, Randwick opened the scoring in the first minute of their gold medal senior boys decider with Rosebank.

It was a sign of things to come with the Randwick-based school, who had earlier taken the first medal of the day in the junior boys bronze medal match, overwhelming their opponents from Rosebank College to take the gold 10-5.

In the senior girls gold medal decider, Domremy looked the goods from the opening minutes of the match against St Clare’s Waverley.

By three-quarter time they were up 4-1 and with the gold well in their sights.

Meanwhile, the first quarter of the junior boys gold medal decider between Holy Cross and De La Salle Catholic College had everything, including strong defence from both sides and three great goals.

De La Salle took a 2-1 lead into the first break with the rest of the match an arm wrestle between the two schools.

In the end Holy Cross College proved too good on the day to take the gold medal 9-5 after a flurry of goals late in the fourth.

Rosebank dominated the intermediate boy’s gold medal match against Marcellin. The Rosebank boys were too strong across the pool for their rivals, taking the gold with their 7-1 victory.

Marcellin scored their only goal of the match in the second period.

St Clare’s, Waverley produced an impressive display in their gold medal decider with St Patrick’s Sutherland.

In the battle for the girls intermediate boasting rights, St Clare’s led from start to finish.

They had a 4-0 jump at the end of the first quarter, lead 6-0 at halftime and then took a 8-1 lead into the final period.

They finished up with a 14-1 victory.
