PREVIEW
For many states playing at the National Futsal Championships, Friday’s action will double as last chance saloon for their finals aspirations in Melbourne.
With the quarter-finals looming large on Saturday, teams will be desperate to stake their claim to a play-offs berth, and they will need to pull out all the stops to do it.
KommunityTV will exclusively live stream every match of the underage action on day three of the tournament across five pitches at Melbourne’s Parkville Sports Centres.
For some sides Friday’s round robin action will provide an opportunity to fine tune their performance, with plenty of teams already locking in a finals berth like the NSW Thunder Under-15 girls.
The sky blues have been dominant over the opening two days, not conceding a single goal in their opening three games and putting 20 in the back of the net at the other end.
Football NSW has locked up playoff spots in almost all of the underage divisions, except for the youngest of the lot.
The Football NSW Thunder Under-12 boys will put their playoff aspirations on the line on Friday after suffering two shock losses on day two of the tournament.
The task will be far from easy for the sky blues as they come up against Pool A ladder leaders Capital Football Gold (Pitch 3, 8am) who have not dropped a game this week.
Host state Football Victoria still have several live chances at making the playoffs including the Under-14 boys, where their side will be determined to finish the pool stage undefeated.
Victoria will face Football NSW Thunder (Pitch 1, 8.55am) and Football SA (Pitch 1, 11.30am), with the latter likely to be a top of the table decider.
