It’s a tournament that has produced a host of Matildas top talents, and the best judges will be hoping to unearth the next generation of national team members.

The Football Australia National Youth Championships will take over the home of the Matildas at Latrobe University from July 3-8.

The states have released their full squads to contest the National Youth Championships, with Victoria launching a two-pronged assault on the Under-15s title while NSW Metro has named a host of returning talent in its Under-15 side which will be chasing grand final revenge against Victoria.

Last year’s Under-14 girls leading goal scorer Matilda Dias-Wadewitz returns for the NSW Metro side, while Victoria Blue has retained its own grand final hero Alexis Pantazopoulos.

Sharp shooter Skye Halmarick will return for the reigning champion NSW Metro side in the Under-16s ranks after she impressed at last year’s tournament, while South Australia and Northern NSW have also added to their line-ups as they aim to improve on last year’s semi-final finishes.

In the Under 15 Girls age group, teams will be split into three pools to contest the group stage. The top three teams from Groups A and B and the top two teams from Group C will then advance to the final stages, progressing through the Quarterfinals and Semi-Finals, with the Grand Final to be held on Sunday, 8 July.

In the Under 16 Girls age group, teams will be split into two pools to contest the group stage. The top team from Groups A and B will advance straight to the Semi-Finals with the second and third-ranked teams from each pool contesting the Qualifying Finals, with the Grand Final to be held on Sunday, 8 July.
