NSW Metro girls need to beat Victoria Metro on Friday to be any chance of featuring in the BA U16 Nationals title playoff games.

Defeats to ACT and Western Australia Metro had left NSW Metro with an uphill finals climb, but this nine-point setback to Queensland South leaves them on the edge of missing the top eight altogether.

Olivia Olechnowicz hit 24 points and Mya Moke 19 as the Queenslanders took care of business in a nervy final quarter.

Keira Robinson continued her excellent tournament with a 17-point haul as Western Australia Metro proved too strong for South Australia Country, winning 77-73.
