Local hope Perry Lakes Hawks pulled off a massive upset by toppling NSW powerhouse Norths Bears 52-41 in the quarter-finals of the BA U18 Club Championships in Perth.

After trailling 14-7 at the first break, the Hawks took control of the contest in the second quarter, outscoring their opponents 21-9.

They then scored the first 11 points of the third quarter to effectively put the game out of reach.

There were no surprises in the boys quarterfinal between Dandenong Ranges and Joodaloop Wolves, with the Melbourne-based team proving far too strong, taking the game 87-50.
