Both sides had a chance to finish the opening day of the tournament undefeated after they had earlier registered strong wins to start the week in Ballarat.

But only the maroon army would be standing tall after a massive opening day with Gold Coast utility Mason Honeyman adding plenty of spark off the bench.

The Rollers young gun finished the day averaging 19.5 points per game, while teammate Roman Siulepa also finished the day with a combined 38 points, 10 rebounds and six assists across the two starts.
