Sydney colt Ozzmosis set up his future as a Hunter Valley stallion when beating the best of his age group in the $2 million Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m) at Flemington on Saturday.

The win was Ozzmosis’s fourth from five starts and took his earnings to more than $1.4 million.

Ozzmosis is a three-year-old colt by Zoustar, he is trained by Bjorn Baker and was ridden by Rachel king.

This is what the riders thought of their mount‘s performance in the Coolmore Stud Stakes.

st - OZZMOSIS (Rachel King) I couldn’t believe how well he just travelled, I had to take a second look when I was at the 300 and I was still travelling, today’s the first day I’ve ridden him where I haven’t had to put pressure on him early because up the straight just made it easier for him, we’ve been drawing wide and do a lot of work but when I jumped him out down the straight the other day, I’ve never ridden a horse who’s been so professional. He got a bit lonely, got a bit lost on his own up the straight the first time and I think if anything it got to him. He’s got another couple of lengths up his sleeve. He’s a freak.

nd - I AM UNSTOPPABLE (Blake Shinn) He ran really well. I was very happy with the first part following Cylinder, but unfortunately he went nowhere from the 600 (metres) onwards. We were stuck in traffic, trying to navigate a passage while the winner was off and gone. He hit the line well. He’s a good colt and his time will come.

rd - SHINZO (James McDonald) He did a good job. He fought hard.

th - ARKANSAW KID (Jye McNeil) I thought he ran fantastic. We had a nice run in transit and at one stage there I thought I was a chance of winning. He ran fantastic.

th - VEIGHT (Jamie Kah) Very good, I thought he was sharp enough but he’s just not quite sharp enough at this level. 1400 is his sweet spot I think.

th - NADAL (Ben Allen) Super. Travelled into it like he was going to be the winner when I looked to see who else was travelling, but he still doesn’t know how to come off the bridle yet, so he’s got improvement.

th - STRETAN ANGEL (Daniel Stackhouse) She’s run well. She probably jumped a bit keen for the first half, then came underneath me nicely and built into the race good, but when I asked her to really extend she wanted to lay-in and hang. I think she will come back a nicer filly in the autumn.

th - BUTCH CASSIDY (Jamie Spencer) We travelled reasonably well but I was disappointed in the last 400 (metres). I thought he would find a lot more.

th - TIZ INVINCIBLE (Harry Coffey) She tried hard but she was just a bit one-paced. They were a bit sharp for her back to the 1200 (metres). 1400 or 1600 would suit better.

th - TREASURWAY (Billy Egan) She was good through the line. She’ll pick-up ‘Black Type’, she’s not a bad little horse.

th - SCHEELITE (Luke Nolen) He was probably not suited back from the mile to the 1200 (metres) today.

th - MEXICO (Jordan Childs) He ran OK but he’s probably looking for a bit further.

th - CYLINDER (Tim Clark) I had a nice run, just off the winner, but at the 600 (metres) I knew I was in trouble andI think he’s come to the end of it.

th - MORAVIA (Damien Oliver) I think he might have come to the end of his campaign. He got worked up pre-race and got a bit of bumping in the run which didn’t give him his chance to show his best.

th - CELUI (Craig Newitt) For a straight race he was never out of trouble. He was always interfered with by over-racing which took it’s toll.

th - DON CORLEONE (Opie Bosson) He travelled well but he was under pressure approaching the course proper.
