Newly-engaged jockeys Jamie Kah and Ben Melham could bookend the week with sparkles.
Kah roped Melham into the Taylor Swift concert at the MCG on Sunday – with sparkly fits to boot – six days out from a lucrative weekend potentially for the couple.
Melham has equal favourite Coleman in the $2m Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes at Caulfield on Saturday, while Kah is spoiling for an upset on talented filly Hayasugi.
Kah will also be riding favourite King’s Gambit in the $750,000 Oakleigh Plate at Caulfield.
“I trialled that horse (Coleman) his first set of trials, he’s a freak, absolute freak,” Kah said.
“If someone else has to win (the Blue Diamond), I would love to win it, but I would be happy for Ben and (trainer) Matty (Laurie) to win.”
Bodyguard and Coleman share top billing in TAB’s all-in Blue Diamond market at $5 from Lady Of Camelot ($6), High Octane $7), Eneeza ($11) and Stay Focused ($11).
Kah has ridden Hayasugi to victory the past two starts in the fillies’ Blue Diamond Preview and Prelude.

• Newmarket still on the table of Imperatriz ... but will it be worth the weight?
“I thought she was good, but she surprised me though, how good she is,” Kah said.
“She did a lot wrong (in the Prelude), she hung out, lost a bit of ground, normally they can’t win those races doing that.
“Obviously it is going to be pretty hard to beat Coleman, but if one of us wins I’ll be happy.”
For the record, Kah thought she was a “Swiftie” until the build-up to The Eras Tour.
“My friend Demi (Calvin McEvoy’s partner) every day for the last month has been sending me her outfit choices, she’s crazy,” Kah laughed.
“I’m a fan but not crazy, (my outfit) is sparkly, very sparkly, going all out, might as well.
“I’m going to look ridiculous but Ben is coming too, I found a sparkly fit for him too.
“He’s regretting coming already, he doesn’t want to go.”
