Lindsay Park added to its powerful two-year-old team when Zestiman successfully took on the tougher of two assignments at Flemington.
Zestiman was an acceptor for a race at Pakenham on Thursday night but trainers Ben, Will and JD Hayes decided to tackle the $150,000 All Jockeys Dash (1000m).
Jockey Luke Currie kept Zestiman ($3.60) up to his work in the last 250m as the Zoustar colt wore down I’m Kenough ($8) late to get home by a neck, giving the stable its fourth two-year-old winner of the season.
Will Hayes said Zestiman would have his chance to prove himself as a Blue Diamond Stakes contender in the coming weeks.
“His trials were very professional. We thought he deserved a crack at headquarters,” Hayes said.

“It was a relatively straightforward race so it was good to see him put the right foot forward.
“While he’s a colt and the dream is alive, we’ll wait and see how he pulls up but it’s a great time of the year to have a winner.
“He’ll progress through the Previews and Preludes and see if he’s up to it but so far, so good.”
TAB assessed Zestiman as a $26 chance in Blue Diamond Stakes betting after his debut win.
Hayes said the colt was in the top bracket of the 60 two-year-olds in training at Lindsay Park’s Euroa and Flemington bases.
“Today, of the few that have debuted, it would be wrong to say that he’s not top five,” he said.
“No, we have got options aplenty, we can be conservative where we place him but it’s a nice race to pick up.”
Damian Lane’s mount Twin Engine ($4.20) finished third, 1-½ lengths from the winner.
