FLEMINGTON FIELDS: Seven of eight are Group 1 winners in the Makybe Diva Stakes
Some of Australia’s best weight-for-age gallopers will clash in a star studded Makybe Diva Stakes at Flemington on Saturday.

A small but select field of eight will face the starter in the highly anticipated $750,000 Group 1 Makybe Diva Stakes (1600m) at Flemington on Saturday.
Seven of the eight runners are already members of the Group 1 club ahead of the 1600m weight-for-age contest.
Star locals Mr Brightside, Memsie Stakes winner Pinstriped and Pride Of Jenni are set to clash against star imported mare Via Sistina, which has won two Group 1 races from her three Australian starts.
The race will also showcase the return of spring Cups contenders Circle Of Fire and Warmonger.

Other feature races on a superb Flemington card include the Group 2 Bobby Lewis Quality (1200m), Group 2 Let’s Elope Stakes (1400m), Group 3 Archer Stakes (2500m) which offers a Melbourne Cup golden ticket to the winner.
Four Listed races round out the black-type events, the Poseidon Stakes (1100m), Exford Plate (1400m), both for three-year-old colts and geldings, the Cap D’antibes Stakes (1100m) for the three-year-old fillies and the Vale Black Caviar (1400m) for four-year-olds and upwards.

The Flemington track was rated a good (4) at acceptance time. The rail will be in the true position on Saturday.
Saturday’s 10-race program commences at 12.10pm with the final event to be run at 5.25pm.
