Five horses to follow from last week’s Victorian jumpouts

A smart debut winner from the Mick Price and Michael Kent Jr stable looks ready to return to the races in style while an unraced galloper from the Grahame Begg camp also looked smart during last week’s Victorian jumpouts.

Racenet form analyst Brad Waters has taken a look at the Victorian trials and jumpouts held last week and found eight runners for punters to follow in the coming weeks.

You can use Racenet’s free blackbook service and we’ll email you when these horses are due to race.

JUMPOUT/TRIAL OF THE WEEK

AMOURSIRRA (Cranbourne Synthetic jumpouts – July 15)
Amoursirra showed a dash of class with her easy maiden win on debut before a fair effort in a Group 3 race in February but she looks set to go to another level with her recent jumpouts. Her first jumpout on July 1 was promising and her last hitout was just as good. She settled behind the leaders to the home turn and didn’t have much room until the 150m but she quickened smoothly once a gap appeared to get close to the heat winner on the line. She’s ready to go back to the races.

COMANCHE MISS (Pakenham Synthetic – July 16)
Comanche Miss produced a terrific second jumpout on the Pakenham Synthetic track. She tracked the leaders to the turn but accelerated impressively despite the rider sitting still as she easily opened a margin on her rivals while they were pushed along in the last 200m. She was midfield in stakes class at her only autumn run but has come back well.

SILVER MAGNATE (Pakenham Synthetic – July 16)
The Grahame Begg-trained three-year-old is yet to race but connections look set to have a bit of fun with the son of Written Tycoon. In Begg-trained style, Silver Magnate relaxed perfectly just off the pace while his action looked terrific as he worked through his gears under little pressure in the straight to swamp the leaders in the last 150m. He looks talented.

ALVIN (Bendigo – July 16)
Alvin has caught my eye at the jumpouts a couple of times as Bendigo trainer Shane Fliedner prepares the gangly galloper for his racetrack debut. He again showed speed and let down well when gently asked for an effort in the straight to open a good margin on his opposition. He’s had plenty of jumpout experience and can win his maiden soon.

SIMPLE TIMES (Ballarat Synthetic – July 17)
Trainer Patrick Payne has given Simple Times a few jumpouts building up to his first-up appearance but the three-year-old showed he was ready to go back to the races in his most recent appearance. He covered ground throughout the heat, moving smoothly while making up ground to finish close-up to the winner despite not being asked for much. He can build on his record of two wins from five starts this time in.

HARRY GOT STYLES (Mornington Synthetic – July 17)
Harry Got Styles showed talent during his maiden racing campaign during the autumn months and has had more time to develop. He moved impressively despite the tight circuit at Mornington in his latest hitout. Harry Got Styles shared the lead to the home turn and looked strong when cruising clear in the last 200m. He’s come back well.

QUELLO DORATO (Flemington Synthetic – July 19)
From the yard of Melbourne Cup-winning trainer Danny O’Brien, this son of Trapeze Artist has had four jumpouts this time in and performed well in all of them. Quello Dorato backed up seven days after he won a jumpout at Flemington so wasn’t asked for much in his latest synthetic-track hitout. He tracked the speed on the inside, which may have left him resenting kickback, but looked strong when making late ground. Expecting him to show ability when he gets to the races.

PROWLING (Cranbourne jumpouts – July 22)
Prowling hasn’t raced since last December but the Greg Eurell-trained galloper showed he was up to stakes class last winter. Prowling had his first jumpout on July 1 but improved despite trialling in heavy conditions last Monday. He sat just off the leader in the heat before stretching out comfortably to comfortably hold second in an effort that promised plenty for the rising six-year-old’s return to racing.
