Caulfield weather watch for smart Ciaron Maher-trained filly Cherish Me
Forecast rain could dictate plans for Ciaron Maher’s smart filly Cherish Me, who has been tentatively scheduled to begin her spring campaign at Caulfield on Saturday.

Cherish Me is set to resume at Caulfield on Saturday, pending track and weather conditions.
Forecast rain on Friday and race day respectively could dictate plans for the Ciaron Maher-trained daughter of Brazen Beau, with a Good track preferred for the one-time Blue Diamond fancy.
The developing spring contender placed second in a recent Cranbourne Synthetic jump out with champion jockey Craig Williams aboard.
Williams has retained the ride first-up on Cherish Me, drawn barrier four on Saturday.
Maher has Brazenga, placed third in a Bendigo maiden on debut in March, also entered for the 2YO Handicap (1200m) at Caulfield.

Cherish Me won the Geelong Diamond by two lengths on debut in January and forced a bold second-up Blue Diamond bid.
Sent out second favourite in the Blue Diamond, Cherish Me held her ground in the straight to run 10th, beaten less than five lengths.
Cherish Me has developed and matured nicely since, with scope to get “a bit further” in the spring.

“She’s still getting there … not quite there fitness wise,” Maher said.
“We had a high opinion of her from the first time she went to the races … she’s got good ability.
“She’ll keep furnishing.”
Maher said the Thousand Guineas (1600m), moved to Caulfield Cup day on October 18, could be an option for Cherish Me.
“I think she’ll get a bit further,” Maher said.
“If we think she could stretch out, timing wise it (Thousand Guineas) would work for her.”
Maher won the Thousand Guineas last year with Another Prophet.
