HAWKESBURY TIPS

BEST BET
Race 4 No.2 SIDE SHOW
Has been just behind the placegetters at his past two starts in much stronger company than he faces here. Can regain winning form.

NEXT BEST

Race 6 No.8 ADMITTED
Resumes from a lengthy break as a gelding. Smart all-the-way win on debut and trialling very well.

VALUE BET
Race 8 No.10 FLYING RANI
Dropped back from city grade to a Class 1 here last start and won well. Good chance again.

QUADDIE
Race 5: 2, 7, 10
Race 6: 4, 8
Race 7: 1, 9, 10
Race 8: 4, 6, 7, 10

JOCKEY TO FOLLOW
Tommy Berry has a solid book of rides and should pick up consistent points in the Jockey Challenge.

RACE 5: BENCHMARK 64 (1800m)
TENBURY WELLS (10) enjoyed a nice run in third on the fence before angling wide off the bend and racing clear in the straight for a widening two-and-a-quarter length maiden win from Lugarno over 1600m at Kembla. Gets a nice run from barrier 1 again and should eat up the 1800m. FLEET COMMANDER (2) sat outside the leader when a two length fourth to Captain Maverick in a Benchmark 72 on the Kensington. Drops back in grade. CRISTAL CLEAR (7) is chasing a hat-trick follow two nice 1600m wins.
BET: Tenbury Wells to win.

RACE 6: COLTS, HORSES & GELDINGS BENCHMARK 64 (1100m)
ADMITTED (8) led all-the-way on debut from Dublin Down at Bendigo before finishing down the track in the Group 3 Maribyrnong Plate. Returns as a gelding and has been good in both trials. CASSIEL (4) was a debut winner at Wyong in March then was fractious in the barriers at his next two starts before a spell. Resumes as a gelding and won his Randwick trial impressively on Sept 9. LADY SHENANIGANS (6) was wide throughout in the Midway at Rosehill last start but was a close second to Hi Dubai at Canterbury before that.
BET: Admitted to win.

RACE 7: FILLIES & MARES BENCHMARK 64 (1100m)
ISLAND DEC (10) debuted with a barnstorming run right down the outside from near last on the bend to score by a nearly two lengths with her ears pricked at Kembla on June 20. Wasn’t pushed in her Warwick Farm heat on Sept 13. TIME BANDIT (1) resumed with a fifth behind the classy Spring Lee at Randwick on Sept 7. Will be better for the run, drops in grade and gets in well with the 3kg claim. MISS COUVER (5) lost touch of the field early before fast closing sectionals first-up. Has since trialled well.
BET: Island Dec to win.

RACE 8: BENCHMARK 68 (1400m)
FLYING RANI (10) was fourth to Zeitung at Canterbury and fifth to Bonita Queen at Warwick Farm before dropping back in grade to a Class 1 here last start. She controlled the race outside the leader and held out the fast-finishing Struff. Will go close again. VOMO ISLAND (6) had a wide run and pulled up lame when down the track at Kembla last start. Previous runs were good and he can bounce back. MONDO (4) is racing well and rates highly. BE REAL (7) has claims on his form last campaign.
BET: Flying Rani each-way.

GOULBURN TIPS

BEST BET
Race 6 No.6 DUVANA
The stakes-placegetter came from near last under 60.5kg when fifth on the Kensington first-up. Up in distance and drops to 56.5kg.

NEXT BEST
Race 5 No.5 UP AND COMER
Has had a lot of luck go his way of late. Should appreciate the step up in trip.

RACE 4: MAIDEN HANDICAP (1000m)
PRETTY CHEEKY (10) is a debutant by Written Tycoon from the Ryan and Alexiou yard. Wasn’t pushed when second in her Rosehill heat on Sept 5 before leading all-the-way in her Sept 16 trial. BLUE MOVES (7) was just beaten second-up in the Miss Finland at Muswellbrook before a third here in her first campaign. Was on speed when a close third in her first trial back at Randwick before sitting back under grip in her second. DUKE OF CAMDEN (1) will be improved by his debut third.
BET: Pretty Cheeky to win.

RACE 5: BENCHMARK 58 (2150m)
UP AND COMER (5) only got clear at the 150m when seventh at Newcastle two starts back before being hampered when third to Noises over 1800m at Hawkesbury. First time at 2100m but bred to run it and gives every indication he will. ALPINE KANDY (8) is first-up but will carry plenty of fitness form her four placings last campaign including a nose second at Queanbeyan on July 19. AUNT ROBERTA (1) is building and gets in well with the claim.
BET: Up And Comer to win.

RACE 6: MAIDEN PLATE (1500m)
DUVANA (6) settled second last and worked to the line okay when fifth behind Mayne in a sprint home when resuming over 1300m on the Kensington on Sept 11. Carried 60.5kg on that occasion and drops to 56.5kg here. He was third to Storm Boy in the Skyline last campaign. SAINT EMILION (10) closed strongly from just worse than midfield when a neck third to Interjection on debut at Newcastle over 1350m. Will relish the 1500m. NOVEMBER AIR (13) and Switz are capable of figuring prominently.
BET: Duvana to win.

RACE 7: CLASS 2 HANDICAP (1500m)
DUE CALZINI (13) was specked when resuming in a TAB Highway at Rosehill but didn’t have much luck coming from well back. He won his maiden at this track and distance in smart style in May. CAPITAL HEART (1) was having his first run for a new stable and appreciated a drop in class with a handy win at Moruya last time out. Will take confidence from the run. PLEASURE ARTIST (12) was narrowly beaten on debut before a win at Kembla last start.
BET: Due Calzini to win.
