BATHURST TIPS

BEST BET
Race 6 No.5 TRAPEZE LEGEND
Same colours as his famous father, Trapeze Artist. Big win at Scone last start.

NEXT BEST
Race 3 No.7 PERFUMIST
Easy and super impressive winner on debut this t/d last prep. Go well.

VALUE
Race 7 No.2 KELILAH
Needs to lift on the first-up run but her best form is good enough to win this.

QUADDIE
Race 4: 2,3,4,5
Race 5: 3,8,12
Race 6: 1,5
Race 7: 2,12

JOCKEY TO FOLLOW
Ash Morgan’s books is ‘small but at Bathurst’ on Tuesday.

BATHURST INSIDE MAIL

RACE 4: CLASS 1 PLATE (1800m)
AIN’T SHE SWELL (5) has run by far more good races than bad stretching back to the days when she was a multiple provincial grade placegetter for Angela Davies. The daughter of More Than Ready won a Super Maiden at Tamworth for Davies and is ‘25’ in two runs for Garry Lunn in better races than this. JOSHUA (2) has finished second fives times, in fact, he was a narrow runner-up in each of his preceding two runs into this. THE RIGHT REIN (3) is in the mix.
BET: Ain’t She Sweet to win, quinella 2,5.

RACE 5: MAIDEN HANDICAP (1200m)
KUROSHINZO (3)’s first 12 starts were in Victoria for Luke Oliver, highlighted by his short-head second at Sale in a mile maiden. The mare is with soon-to-be Kosciuszko trainer Mack Griffith from now on. Trialled in grand style at Dubbo 11-days ago. TRUST A KITTY (12) ran a huge race first-up at Dubbo over 1000m given she was first-up since April 20 in a 2000m Maiden at Dalby for the old crew. Big watch on GIOVANNA STAR (8) who debuted in the Silver Goblet.
BET: Kuroshinzo to win (best bet), Daily Double 1st Leg (3), 2nd Leg (2).

RACE 6: CLASS 1 HANDICAP (1200m)
TRAPEZE LEGEND (5) is nominated for a much harder race at Hawkesbury on Thursday but surely given the good draw here and the diminished stature of the race, you’d have to come out west for this one. Just for the record, he chased a handy on debut then won with something in hand next time out. That said, CONTRIVED (1) is no easy-beat. The Ryan/Alexiou housed gelding is a Wyong winner and was once fifth to Snow In may at Newcastle. LIGHT INFANTRY (3) can figure.
BET: Trapeze Legend to win or is scratched Contrived to win.

RACE 7: BENCHMARK 58 (1300m)
KELILAH (2) is a good deal better than the first-up 9th of 14 at Dubbo. Not that it was all that bad a run and it was quite a deep Class 2 for country grade. You could go through her previous 11 starts and find little fault with any of them (bar one maybe). Point is, if she brings her best, she is on the podium. Pat Murphy’s PRINCE PAPA (12) makes a lot of appeal in this race mostly on account of his 53kgs. ISHAMASHI (9) beat Tokyo Run on debut here. Drawn well too.
BET: Kelilah to win, box trifecta 2,8.9.12.

King Charles set to make The Everest a royal occasion at Randwick

MURWILLUMBAH TIPS

BEST BET
Race 1 No.12 PERRI LASS
Kris Lees trained Pierro mare who seems to have superior form to the rest.

NEXT BEST
Race 2 No.7 CALVARY
Matthew Dunn’s local who ran third in a quality 2YO race here on debut last prep.

VALUE
Race 5 No.3 MOON SWEEPER
Dunn again; this time with a grey debutante trialling rather well.

MURWILLUMBAH INSIDE MAIL

RACE 4: MAIDEN HANDICAP (1550m)
THREE GRACES (10) remains winless after 17 starts but the daughter of Sebring has placed six times, five of those are seconds. In fact the Ethan Ensby-trained mare has finished runner-up at all three starts circa this distance. Loves the slop too. TOP ACT (11) has placed at four of her six starts, one of them at Doomben. Ran at Doomben first-up, this is easier by comparison. HE’S POPLAR (4) is a major player (if he comes), MAX ‘O’ MAX (5) is as fit as a fiddle.
BET: Three Graces to win, quinella 10,11.

RACE 5: MAIDEN HANDICAP (1200m)
MOON SWEEPER (3) is a grey like his father Puissance De Lune. This three-year-old makes his debut over 1200m which looks ideal. The Matthew Dunn-trained gelding has trialled up rather well three times, all over the border in Queensland. His biggest danger would seem to be his stablemate SEKI (5). He’s a Dundeel gelding who has also trialled (nicely) three times in Queensland. RISK FOR REWARD (2) has run three fine races, his best so far was on a Heavy 10.
BET: Moon Sweeper to win, quinella 2,5, box tri 2,3,5,6 Daily Double 1st leg (3), 2nd Leg (5).

RACE 6: BENCHMARK 66 (1200m)
WRITTEN FAME (5), another of the Matthew Dunn troupe, has three wins and a second from 10 starts. One of those wins was on Heavy. Two of the three victories were at the home base. Not saying he won’t run the 1200m but he’s not a rolled-gold certainty to. BOLD HOI HO (7) may have already run (in the third race). He trialled well at Kempsey for the record. Not sure which of the Toby Edmonds/Stephen McLean duo turn up on the day but either could win.
BET: Written Fame to win.

RACE 7: CLASS 2 PLATE (1550m)
TOROVISTA (5) is trained by David McColm who will be in Sydney on Saturday with Far Too Easy in the Kosciuszko. As for Torovista, he is building up to another win. VEANDECHANCE (10) looked like being a pretty handy prospect early on when you consider he was third to Amati and Pierossa on debut then won at Canterbury himself three weeks later. Fast forward to the present and the Matthew Dunn-trained son of Vancouver is back home, second-up, off a meritorious fifth of 10 (from last) at Ipswich. SHOWMAN (4) is a player (if he comes).
BET: Torovista to win or if scratched Veandechance to win.
