Think About It is running out of chances to defend his title in the $20m The TAB Everest.
The Joe Pride-trained Think About It is in a make-or-break situation for the Group 2 $1m Premiere Stakes (1200m) at Royal Randwick on Saturday.
If he wins or runs very well, then Think About It is likely to be picked up by Everest slot-holders, Max Whitby, Neil Werrett and Col Madden.
But if he produces a less than convincing performance in the Premiere, stablemate Private Eye could get the call-up.
In the third episode of The Race, a six-part documentary series on The TAB Everest that goes online on Daily Telegraph TV from 8am on Friday, we analyse the four sprinters who have been selected for The Everest this week – and a high profile withdrawal.

We speak with champion jockey Craig Williams about his thoughts on Bella Nipotina’s chances in The TAB Everest, and we catch up with Hall of Fame trainer Chris Waller as he discusses brilliant mare Joliestar’s build-up to the big race, run at Royal Randwick on October 19.
Plus, we take you through the key chances in the all-important Premiere Stakes on Saturday.
With Bustling coming out of The Everest due to injury, it means Whitby, Werrett and Madden are on the lookout for another sprinter.
But they have missed out on Giga Kick, Storm Boy, Lady Of Camelot and Sunshine In Paris who were all confirmed as starters this week.
Giga Kick won The Everest in 2022 and owner Jonathan Munz has negotiated to lease the Australian Turf Club’s slot.
The Clayton Douglas-trained Giga Kick will complete his The Everest preparation when he takes on Think About It in the Premiere Stakes.
Trainers Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott now have two runners in The Everest with Golden Slipper winner Lady Of Camelot and crack colt Storm Boy.
Lady Of Camelot’s owner Sir Owen Glenn has leased the slot of James Harron to secure a start for his filly while slot-holder Coolmore has locked in their colt, Storm Boy.
Sunshine In Paris is raced by John Camilleri who also manages the Fairway Thoroughbreds slot and it was no surprise when the mare was confirmed as an Everest starter on Thursday.
As the countdown continues to The Everest, a new episode of The Race will appear online each Friday morning chronicling the twists and turns leading up to the world’s richest turf race, run at Royal Randwick on October 19.
We review key race results, get the latest news from trainers, jockeys, owners and Everest slot-holders, and preview the races to watch out for on Saturday.
The Race documentary series can be found on the Daily Telegraph’s website, DTTV, and via the QR code which will appear each Friday in The Daily Telegraph.
