The Daily Telegraph and Racenet form analyst Shayne O’Cass gives his best bets and quaddie analysis at Tamworth and Queanbeyan on Friday.

TAMWORTH

BEST BET

Race 6 No. 7: Magic Flyer

Talented Cody Morgan-trained local who impressed in winning his only run at the venue last prep. He has trialled well.

NEXT BEST

Race 2 No. 1: Blazed Prince

Got a long back, as expected, here last start and just ran out of time to catch the other two.

VALUE BET

Race 4 No. 9: Zakor

Saves his best for Tamworth, in fact, he was third in a very strong Class 3 here last time.

QUADDIE

Race 5: 7, 10

Race 6: 7

Race 7: 4

Race 8: 1, 2

JOCKEY TO FOLLOW

Ashley Morgan has the pick of the rides at Tamworth on Friday.

QUEANBEYAN

BEST BET

Race 5 No. 1: Duke Of Bronte

Unbeaten in two runs for Matthew Dale and walked in both times. Will be popular.

NEXT BEST

Race 2 No. 2: Slipstreaming

Very fit son of Contributer and ready for the 2000m now.

VALUE BET

Race 6 No. 2: Fairness Is Best

Building his way up to a win. Barrier 2 and 1600m might be the key.

INSIDE MAIL - TAMWORTH

RACE 5

Satay Chicken was something like $4 into $1.70 on the TAB Fixed Odds when he resumed here on June 28. He finished a distant fifth of 14, nothing wrong with the ride or the horse, he just didn’t fire like we all expected him too. Too good to sack. Watch Me Rumble has run well in some very good quality country races. Chances went up when he drew barrier 4. Vincenzo has been in an Orange Cup and a Lord Mayor’s Cup within his last three.

Bet: Satay Chicken to win

RACE 6

Magic Flyer started off in the Hayes camp; he had three runs for Luke Morgan and won two of them either side of a spell. The horse is first-up again, this time for Luke’s brother, Cody. Nice prospect who has trialled well. Keikoku has drawn wide here and also accepted for Gunnedah come Monday. King Rupert will appreciate getting back on a firmer track having run on a Heavy 8 and 9 lately and that 9 was in a Highway.

Bet: Magic Flyer to win

No More Romance looks a great chance to bring up a second career win. Picture: Bradley Photos

RACE 7

No More Romance hasn’t had the best of luck in his four starts yet has still managed a win and a third. The Cody Morgan-trained local gives every indication that 1400m is perfect now. His stablemate Smart Shot chased a good one at Mudgee. Scott Singleton’s Zariz mare Zahdi has only managed one solitary win in her 14 starts but she has done a lot of racing at the provincials in her ‘previous life’. Major Makeover was outstanding behind Rasay Factor (goes well) here last start.

Bet: No More Romance to win, Major Makeover to place

RACE 8

Great Siege was so dominant when he won here in April at his first run for Holly Williams. Spelled and trialled very well indeed at Muswellbrook on June 26. Generates a lot of interest but you get the feeling that the market will tell the story better. Luke Pepper’s Legolas is better than a lot of these, most of them in fact. Maybe the better the track surface, the better the chances of the Wyong visitor Provencal.

Bet: Great Siege each-way

INSIDE MAIL - QUEANBEYAN

RACE 5

Duke Of Bronte has raced twice for Matthew Dale, winning them both by a combined margin of over nine lengths. He has led throughout each time and from barrier 1 around Queanbeyan, he is going to be a hard one to catch. Wyong filly One Kind was scratched from Grafton on Cup Day to run here instead. Her best would be good enough to figure and she was very good at Newcastle last Saturday. Mount Warning has the on-pace pattern that wins a lot of races here.

Bet: Duke Of Bronte to win

RACE 6

Fairness Is Best is a Pat Murphy-trained gelding who had genuine excuses for his ‘ninth’ and ‘fifth’ to start the new campaign. The son of Press Statement was fourth at the most recent start, beaten a diminishing half length and showing some real fighting qualities. Burgundy Girl has won five races and placed six times in 27 starts which is an admirable record. Better yet, she is unbeaten in her two visits to Queanbeyan, and is a booming last start winner at Wagga. Back in trip but she’s a ‘racehorse’.

Bet: Fairness Is Best to win

RACE 7

Prince Papa is a son of a mare called On My Papa who raced 70 times, won eight, runner-up 15 and third eight times. Tough mare that. As for her Casino Prince son, Prince Papa, he is one from 10 at the moment. As for the last start ‘last’, it was a Heavy 8 at Nowra and he hated it. Gratz Vella-trained gelding Good Prize was building up that Maiden win at Moruya last start. Drew 11 of 11, was ninth at the turn, first at the post. Beaten a lip at his only run at Queanbeyan.

Bet: Prince Papa to win

RACE 8

Lethal Lady was very good at Albury, that was a real return to form for the Norm Gardner mare. To be fair, she was actually not too bad in a Highway at Randwick back on June 8. She was third here at her only run, even though on face value, it is probably not her ideal circuit. The cleverly-named Trapeze Artist son Greatestofease passed a few in that Class 1 at Moruya. Has the talent. Tokyo Ice generates a whole lot of interest here; this is her first run for Scott Collings and she has the form to do something.

Bet: Lethal Lady to win
