BEST BET
RHEINBERG (Race 2 No.3 – $5)
Wayne Ormond found former Kiwi Mr Brightside and looks to have spotted another talented galloper. Showed good ability at his three runs over the ditch and has trialled well in the lead up to Wednesday. Looks hard to beat.
NEXT BEST
RIVERPLATE (Race 3 No.1 – $1.80)
This former Kiwi showed good improvement from his last campaign when trouncing them first-up over this trip. Bounced straight to the front that day and made every post a winner, from barrier one he can do the same.
WORSFOLD (Race 8 No.16 – $6.50)
Speaking of Mr Brightside, Worsforld finished third to him and Chief Altony two campaigns ago and look well placed to score third-up at 1400m. Wide barrier but Blake Shinn has been riding winners for fun and can get this gelding home first.
VALUE BET
STAR BUYER (Race 7 No.10 – $34)
Former John O’Shea-trained horse now in the care of Geoff Duhyea. Flies on top of the ground and unlucky not to finish closer last start at Wodonga. Should run better than the odds suggest.
JOCKEY – Blake Shinn
One of the top jockeys in the country this season and has a gun book of rides on Wednesday.
Shanghai Venture (R1 No.6 – $3.80), Smullen (R2 No.12 – $5.50), Riverplate (R3 No.1 – $1.80), Gold Governor (R5 No.8 – $10), Worsfold (R8 No.16 – $6.50)
