Racenet and Herald Sun form analyst Chris Vernuccio takes a look at the Saturday meeting at Pakenham.

BEST BET

NADAL (R8 No.6 - $2.80)

Explosive sprinter Nadal steps up to 1400m for the first time in The Supernova, but he wasn’t slowing down in his brilliant win in The Meteorite where he ran the third fastest last 200m of the meeting.

NEXT BEST

SAMANGU (R3 No.10 - $2.25)

Lightly-raced mare Samangu has won both starts this campaign by a combined 5¼ lengths. She is stepping up from a BM64 to a BM78 but she is progressive and should be able to conrtol the race from the front.

VALUE BET

IS IT ME (R10 No.6 - $6)

Is It Me placed in his first two runs of the prep before finishing strongly for a close fourth over the 1400m distance at Ballarat after jumping from barrier 14, and the five-year-old can settle closer here from a good draw.

THE JOCKEY

BLAKE SHINN

CHARMED RUN (R1 No.4 - $5.50), ROMANI ITE DOMUM (R2 No.1 - $3.30), SISTERHOOD (R3 No.7 - $7), CONVENER (R4 No.2 - $12), ACTAEON (R5 No.10 - $6), NATION’S CALL (R7 No.3 - $4.40), ARKANSAW KID (R8 No.1 - $9.50), MURAMASA (R9 No.3 - $3.60), GLOBAL HARMONY (R10 No.5 - $3.50)
