South Australian filly Kuroyanagi will be fitter after a close first-up second in the Listed Lightning Stakes at Morphettville off one trial. She has placed in both runs at Caulfield, which includes a third in the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes in the autumn.

Lovazou has made a brilliant return with wins at Ballarat and over the track and distance at Caulfield. Trainer Danny O’Brien is sticking to the same winning formula with the four-year-old mare again be a month between runs.

PINSTRIPED (R8 No.6 – $4.80)

Pinstriped finished second in this race last year behind Mr Brightside, who he doesn’t have to contend with here. He’s first-up record is strong with two wins and two seconds from six attempts and the prospect of rain increases his chances.
