American thoroughbred tycoon John Stewart hasn’t ruled out making the trip to Sydney to watch his brilliant colt Storm Boy contest the $20m The TAB Everest.

Stewart shares in the ownership of Storm Boy, the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained three-year-old who will contest the world’s richest turf race at Royal Randwick on October 19.

But the billionaire owner conceded his commitments at the US Breeders Cup series at Santa Anita on November 1-2 were causing scheduling concerns.

“I am looking into it,’’ Stewart told News Corp when asked if he would be at The Everest.

“I have several in the (US) Breeders Cup and the breeding stock sale is directly after so I have to figure it out.

“Of course, I would love to be there.’’

Storm Boy will race in The Everest slot of the colt’s major shareholder, Coolmore Stud.

In latest TAB Fixed Odds betting, Storm Boy is at $15 behind I Wish I Win at $5.

Stewart did attend the Golden Slipper at Rosehill earlier this year to watch Storm Boy finish third to stablemate and The Everest rival Lady Of Camelot.

The American owner kept a low profile that day but that would be impossible now given his massive investment into the sport in recent months.

Stewart was the underbidder for all-time great Winx’s first yearling, a filly by Pierro, at the Inglis Easter Sale earlier this year, going to $9m only to be out-bid by Debbie Kepitis who secured the filly for a world record $10m.

Despite missing out on the Winx filly, Stewart purchased six yearlings at the Easter Sale including the I Am Invincible-Booker filly that sold for $3m, the second highest priced-lot at the auction.

Chris Waller has been selected by Stewart to train the I Am Invincible filly.

The Hall of Fame trainer will also prepare the American’s Wootton Bassett-Tulip colt he purchased for $900,000.

Stewart has given two yearlings to Bjorn Baker – the Lope De Vega-Hint Of Pink filly which cost $425,000 and the Dundeel-Game Of Thorns colt the American purchased for $240,000.

The American owner-breeder, who is taking world racing by storm, has given the other two purchases to Ciaron Maher – the I Am Invincible-Faith In Hand filly that cost $650,000 and the Street Boss-This Time Bridie filly he secured for $225,000.
