Trainer Jason Coyle will give serious consideration to backing up Catch The Glory in stakes company next week after his speedy filly bounced back to her best at Royal Randwick on Saturday.

Catch The Glory ($7) produced a slick turn of speed off the back of a well-timed Tyler Schiller ride to salute in the Midway Benchmark 72 Handicap (1100m).

She overpowered the Kim Waugh-trained Mogul Monarch ($4 favourite) late to score with John Sargent’s Photographics ($5.50) in third.

It was an instant return to form for the Zousain filly, who had been a beaten favourite in the same grade last start but pulled up slow to recover after a testing run.

“She tried so hard last start after a wide run in transit so I feel like that is why she was slow to recover,” Coyle said.

“She put so much into it and only went down three lengths.

“It was a much more economical run in transit today and we saw the best of her.”

Catch The Glory is building an imposing record early in her career with three wins and a placing from six starts.

She could have earned herself a crack at earning some black type with Coyle earmarked a potential run in the Listed $200,000 Fireball Stakes (1100m) at Royal Randwick next Saturday.

“We didn’t get a gut buster this week so if she can please me through the week, there is no doubt I will nominate, then assess on Wednesday if we accept,” Coyle said.
