Ryan Moore, the world’s best jockey, is keen to return to Sydney to ride for Coolmore in the Group 1 Golden Slipper in late March.

Ryan Moore, the world’s best jockey, has told Coolmore he is willing to return to Sydney to try and win another $5 million Golden Slipper this autumn carnival.

The champion English jockey spoke with Coolmore Australia supremo Tom Magnier over the weekend after boom two-year-old Switzerland made an impressive winning debut at Royal Randwick.

“Ryan’s the ultimate professional and told me he would be happy to come out for the Golden Slipper again if we need him,’’ Magnier said.

“He is across what is going on here (Australian racing) and was impressed by Switzerland.’’

Moore is contracted to Coolmore and answered an SOS from the breeding giant last year to win the Golden Slipper on the Chris Waller-trained Shinzo.

Switzerland has drawn inevitable comparisons with Shinzo as both colts are by super sire Snitzel and are owned and trained in similar interests. Remarkably, Switzerland made his debut almost 12 months to the day that Shinzo had his first race start.

Waller is yet to finalise a program for Switzerland but confirmed the colt will be given his chance to qualify for the Golden Slipper, run at Rosehill Gardens on March 23.

TAB Fixed Odds price assessors slashed Switzerland’s Golden Slipper odds from $26 to $11 immediately after his Randwick win but the colt is now into $8 second favouritism behind only unbeaten Magic Millions winner Storm Boy.

Switzerland’s emergence comes just days after Coolmore put in a huge bid to buy a controlling interest in Storm Boy in a deal that could be worth more than $50 million.

It is understood confirmation of the Storm Boy sale is expected early this week.

But Coolmore aren’t relying solely on Switzerland or Storm Boy for the Golden Slipper as they have another promising colt set to debut at Randwick’s Kensington meeting on Wednesday.

Railway Man, who cost Coolmore $2.5 million at the Magic Millions Yearling Sale last year, is entered for another 1250m sprint against seven other unraced juveniles.

The Ciaron Maher-trained Railway Man is superbly bred by champion sire I Am Invincible and is the first foal out of Booker, the winner of the 2019 Oakleigh Plate.

Railway Man has been given a solid grounding with three barrier trials this month and Sydney’s reigning premier jockey James McDonald has been booked for Wednesday’s race.

Ciaron has got a good opinion of Railway Man so we are looking forward to his debut on Wednesday,’’ Magnier said.s

Coolmore could be in for a big autumn on the racetrack as their brilliant filly Learning To Fly continues her comeback when she trials at Warwick Farm on Tuesday.

Moore showed why he is regarded as the world’s best jockey with an outstanding ride to win on Warm Heart in the Group 1 Pegasus World Cup Turf at Gulfstream Park in Florida on Sunday.

Warm Heart, trained by Ireland’s Aidan O’Brien and raced by Coolmore, is by legendary sire Galileo and has an Australian connection through her dam, three-time Group 1 winner Sea Siren.

Coolmore has confirmed Warm Heart will be retired after scoring her sixth win from 11 starts, including three at Group 1 level, and is likely to be served by stallion sensation Justify, sire of Storm Boy.
