A consistent galloper from the Patrick Payne stable can post the first win of his autumn campaign while a $34 chance can build on two solid jumpouts leading up to his first-up assignment at Caulfield on Saturday.

Jimmy The Bear is simply ready to win after two excellent efforts to start his campaign. He’s down in class at Caulfield and drawn perfectly.

CURRAN (Race 6, No. 2)

Curran never runs a bad race and will find this easier than his last four summer runs. He’s a great each-way chance on Saturday.

RACE 1: 11:50AM DEXION VICTORIA HANDICAP (1100m)

Tricky 2YO race to start the day but EARTH GOD (6) showed good speed and looked a professional youngster in his jumpouts leading up to this. BLUE RENEGADE (1) fought on to score at Sandown second-up and will be hard to run down. CASTELLAR (5) could surprise after a couple of pleasing jumpouts. HUSK (4) showed a neat turn of foot to win at Sandown and will be fitter.

SUGGESTED BET: Small win bet Earth God.

TAB MARKET MOVER: Mellifluent $5.50 – $4.60.

RACE 2: 12:25PM NEXT PAYMENTS HANDICAP (1600m)

SUBRISING (2) was able to race closer when scoring at Ballarat last time and has drawn for a similar run here. STYLISH (3) will find this much easier than his last run in Adelaide and is capable of racing closer to the speed. MY XANADU (5) is better than her last run suggest and could lead comfortably. GINGER STREET (4) could build on her narrow Sandown success.

SUGGESTED BET: Box trifecta 2, 3, 4, 5

TAB MARKET MOVER: My Xanadu $5 – $4.40.

RACE 3: 1:00PM VALE ROD MCQUEEN (1400m)

Interesting race but ARQANA (11) closed well over this course last start and will enjoy a class drop in this. AMANI (10) steps up in grade for this but she’s racing consistently and has drawn perfectly. Adelaide galloper EPISODIC (2) has charged home to win her last two starts and could measure up to this. PRINCESS RAYNA (6) is consistent and will be thereabouts again.

SUGGESTED BET: Arqana to win.

TAB MARKET MOVER: Princess Rayna $4.40 – $3.80.

Luna Cat has a good first-up record and will have a chance to post a fresh win for Linsday Park at Caulfield on Saturday. Picture: Racing Photos via Getty Images.

RACE 4: 1:35PM BERETTA’S LANGWARRIN HOTEL HANDICAP (1100m)

LUNA CAT (3) has a solid first-up record and will have every chance to continue her consistent summer form at Caulfield. FOXICON (1) is another resuming but she has a good first-up record and likes soft ground. CHARMED RUN (11) is a decent price but she’s racing well this tine in and is worth thought. CHEVAL CHIC (13) will relish the forecast rain and races best over 1100m.

SUGGESTED BET: Luna Cat each-way.

TAB MARKET MOVER: Jewellery $4.60 – $3.80.

RACE 5: 2:10PM STUD AND STABLE STAFF AWARDS (1200m)

Don’t be surprised if FIRST MATE (10) produces a first-up blowout at Caulfield after his excellent jumpouts leading up to this. BEWS (15) ran on soundly at Caulfield second-up and will be fitter again for this. IS IT ME (3) should be forgiven after struggling in tough conditions at Listed level second-up. BEOUR BAY (9) drops in grade and has drawn to be on the pace for a long way.

SUGGESTED BET: Small win bet First Mate with a saver on Bews.

TAB MARKET MOVER: Prancing Spirit $10 – $6.50.

RACE 6: 2:45PM MANHARI METALS HANDICAP (1100m)

CURRAN (2) is always around the mark and will find this easier than his most consistent summer assignments. He’ll go close again. ASHFORD STREET (1) won well first-up and races best over the 1100m. EXTREMELY LUCKY (3) drops back from Group 1 level in Adelaide and he was a fast-finishing winner over this trip first-up. VIVIANE (4) was narrowly beaten over this course when off a fix-week break last start and will be fitter.

SUGGESTED BET: Curran each-way.

TAB MARKET MOVER: Keep Reading $4.80 – $4.20.

RACE 7: 3:20PM ERN JENSEN FUNERALS MILE (1600m)

JIMMY THE BEAR (3) looks perfectly placed over 1600m after two excellent efforts to start his autumn career while barrier five should ensure he has the perfect run. MUNHAMEK (1) ran on well from an awkward draw at Flemington and could race closer from the barrier. ST LAWRENCE (7) ran on well in Sydney first-up and is unbeaten second-up. POUNDING (2) is always around the mark at this level.

SUGGESTED BET: Jimmy The Bear to win.

TAB MARKET MOVER: St Lawrence $2.90 – $2.70.

RACE 8: 4:00PM THOROUGHBRED CLUB HANDICAP (1200m)

SIOUX SPIRIT (16) handled a class rise in good fashion at Flemington second-up and can continue to measure up at this level. BATRANA (14) has drawn awkwardly but she showed she has returned in good order in her jumpouts. DIAMOND DECORATOR (4) raced on the speed and fought on well second-up but will be fitter for this. SHESALLSHENANIGANS (1) has drawn to have every chance here.

SUGGESTED BET: Sioux Spirit to win.

TAB MARKET MOVER: Sioux Spirit $13 – $9.50.

RACE 9: 4:35PM LOGICAL STAFFING SOLUTIONS HANDICAP (2000m)

Tough race to finish the Caulfield meeting but FLOSSING (9) is due for a change of fortune after having no luck at his last two runs and can improve sharply. FOUJITA SAN (5) ran on soundly at Flemington second-up and will be fitter again. MIRZANN (15) should be one of the hardest to beat after two excellent efforts this time in. TROSETTEE (12) ran on well at Sandown last Saturday and is a 2000m winner.

SUGGESTED BET: Flossing each-way.

TAB MARKET MOVER: Mirzann $4.80 – $3.90.
