WEDNESDAY MEETINGS: Sandown — Hillside (8 races, 1pm), Ipswich (8 races, 1.20pm), Gawler (8 races, 1.38pm), Warwick Farm (7 races, 2.15pm), Ascot (8 races, 3.35pm).
WARWICK FARM
NIC ASHMAN (Daily Telegraph)
JUST AS COSMIC (Race 7, No. 1)
Liked her run last start on a track that was favouring on speed gallopers. Was placed third-up last campaign and has a class edge here.
STPHEN ZAMMIT (Daily Telegraph)
TREMEZZINA
Race 4, No. 4
From the Chris Waller stable, this filly arrived just in time to score a shorthead win over 1400m Kembla Grange (Metro) F&M (Bm72) March 23. On the way up, handles the wet and looks very hard to hold out again.
JOHN DAVIS (Daily Telegraph)
WINE ‘N’ DINE
Race 3, No. 7
Stormed home over the mile trip here on Easter Monday and this looks a natural progression. Only run at a similar distance resulted in a blow out at Randwick but it was in class record time against much stronger opposition. Locally trained and record on this track is handy.
SHAYNE O’CASS (Sportsman)
CHAMPAGNE READY
Race 5, No. 12
Ran a huge second to Maraam at Gosford on March 17. If ever a racetrack wouldn’t suited a horse it’s Gosford for Champagne Ready. The 1400m at WF by contrast is ideal. She can take all time to balance up, slingshot herself around the bend and reel them in. She is still a bit ‘new’ and lacks some racecraft but she more than makes up for it in talent.
SANDOWN (Hillside)
MICHAEL MANLEY (Herald Sun)
MUST BE MINK
Race 4, No. 1
Made it two in a row when successful at Sandown Lakeside winning easily last start. Carries the Weir polish and worth sticking with.
