Top jockey Jamie Kah will ride two-year-old filly Little Princess for her parents at Geelong on Friday.

There could be two princesses in the Kah household after the first race at Geelong on Friday.

Top jockey Jamie Kah will ride two-year-old filly Little Princess for her parents in the Geelong Homes Maiden Plate (1130m).

“It’s exciting because mum and dad have bought a few horses to be trained by Mark Stephenson because he trains out of my place (on the Mornington Peninsula),” Kah said.

“They’re best mates and they love each other.”

Little Princess has shown ability leading up to her debut with jumpout wins at Balnarring at Mornington.

Kah rode Little Princess in both her jumpouts, quickly forming a bond with the daughter of Sooboog.

“She’s shown a lot, she’s speedy and dead quiet so she’s a lovely horse to ride,” Kah said.

“I rode her in her last trial and it looked like she was stopping late but she was just really fat and needed the trial.”

Little Princess cost only $1000 in an Inglis online Sale last year but Kah said she has already had success with the filly’s family.

“I actually won on her mum when I was an apprentice,” Kah said.

TAB punters have backed Little Princess from $4.20 to $3.20 in early betting on the $27,000 race.

Kah said winning for her family would mean more than the $14,850 winner’s cheque.

“She’s no superstar but hopefully I can get a winner for mum and dad,” Kah said.

“I just love the horse and it makes mum and dad happy.

“They love getting out and feeding her every morning and doing its box.”

Little Princess will have the advantage of the inside draw at Geelong.
