An electrical fire in the grandstand at the Ipswich Turf Club will not put the meeting in jeopardy, with officials still expecting a bumper day for the flagship event.

Emergency crews were called out to the Bundamba track on Friday night and were able to contain the small fire in the old grandstand, with minimal damage done on the eve of the club’s biggest day.
