Final field and barrier draw for Group 1 Black Caviar Lightning

Eight runners are set to line up in Saturday’s Group 1 Black Caviar Lightning (1000m) at Flemington with sprinting sensation Imperatriz drawing barrier two.

Te Akau’s super mare will take on the likes of Private Eye, Bella Nipotina, Espiona and Cylinder in her quest to add another Australian Group 1 to the resume.

Opie Bosson will make the trip across the ditch to partner Imperatriz.

Meanwhile, Group 1 winners Riff Rocket and King Colorado highlight the acceptances for the Group 3 CS Hayes Stakes.

Steparty was due to run in the 1400m contest but he is now out for the autumn and headed to the spelling paddock.

Other feature races on Saturday’s 10-race card include the TAB Vanity (1400m), Tressday Stakes (1400m) and Talindert Stakes (1100m).

The Flemington track was rated a good (4) at acceptance time. The rail will be in the true position on Saturday.

Saturday’s 10-race program commences at 11.40am with the final event to be run at 5.10pm.
