Eleven runners are set to clash in Victoria’s feature race, the $500,000 Listed Cranbourne Cup (1600m) on Saturday.

The weather could play a role in the outcome of the feature handicap with as much as 20 mils of rain being forecast by the Bureau of Meteorology to fall in south-east Melbourne on Saturday.

One runner that won’t mind the rain is the Gavin Bedggood-trained Just Folk, a proven wet-tracker and the seven-year-old gelding will start from barrier 9.

The Ciaron Maher and David Eustace-trained Ascension is another that loves getting his toe into the ground but he will need to overcome the outside gate while his stablemate Charterhouse drew to his immediate inside in barrier 10.

Other proven smart performers in the race are Pounding (barrier 8), Here To Shock (barrier 5), Umgara (barrier 6), Lord Vladivostock (barrier 2), Riyazan (barrier 1), Foxy Cleopatra (barrier 3) and Euphoric (barrier 7).
