Alligator Blood’s former owner Allan Endresz has given racing authorities a Stradbroke Handicap deadline to reinstate Alligator Blood as a Magic Millions winner and to pay out prizemoney.

An emotional Allan Endresz is demanding racing authorities reinstate Alligator Blood as a Magic Millions winner and pay out the prizemoney before the looming two-year anniversary of his wife’s death.

Joy Endresz died from a terminal illness the day after Alligator Blood’s extraordinary 2022 Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap triumph and she was the star horse’s number one fan.

“I want this horse’s name to be as clear as a bell by the time the Stradbroke is run,” Endresz told Racenet.

“Joy died the day after Alligator Blood’s Stradbroke win. But she made a comment the day that she died about him winning the Stradbroke and then she passed away later in the day.

“It’s quite a significant moment. I am sending (on Friday) a legal demand to the Racing Queensland board to pay the money and to declare the horse the winner of the 2020 Gold Coast Magic Millions Guineas.

“If they don’t do that, if they don’t sort this out by the anniversary of Joy’s death, then the gloves will then really come off.”

In May, the Queensland Supreme Court handed Alligator Blood’s colourful former owner Endresz a stunning victory in the long-running Magic Millions disqualification saga.

In a landmark decision, Justice Morrison, of the Court Of Appeal, ruled in favour of a court’s original decision to sensationally void Alligator Blood’s disqualification from the $2m 2020 Gold Coast Magic Millions 3YO Guineas.

Endresz’s lawyer Tim Fuller said the time frame for Racing Queensland or the Queensland Racing Integrity Commission (QRIC) to appeal the court’s decision had expired this week.

Alligator Blood was originally stripped of the Magic Millions and the $1.165m winners cheque following a positive swab to the banned substance, altrenogest.

But Endresz launched successful Supreme Court action saying he and the ownership team were never given an opportunity to be heard by stewards before the disqualification.

Industry sources believe QRIC has been considering reinstating Alligator Blood as the Magic Millions winner, but then immediately opened a new stewards’ inquiry into the matter of the positive swab.

However, there has been no public comment from QRIC or Racing Queensland.

The matter may be further complicated by QRIC Commissioner Shane Gillard announcing his resignation earlier this week.
