HAWKESBURY INSIDE MAIL

RACE 1: SUPER MAIDEN HANDICAP (1000m)

Justice Warrior didn’t have much luck first-up when third to Viale at Port Macquarie. He was wide down the back straight an just as he got outside the leader, was pushed back out three-wide. He will be better for the run and drawn ideally here. King’s Secret is a Joe Pride-trained half-brother to Private Eye on debut. Closed impressively when second in his Warwick Farm trial. Nymphadora was fair when fifth to Up The Front here first-up. Ran some nice races in two-year-old features last season.

Bet: Justice Warrior to win

RACE 2: PROVINCIAL MAIDEN PLATE (1100m)

Leantothemoon was caught three-wide throughout and beaten just over a length when fourth behind Up The Front on debut here. No luck again last start when held up behind the leader until the 150m when a half-length second to Shoutaboutit. Hawker Hall is a debutant by Russian Revolution from the Kris Lees stable. Has been very good in winning his Newcastle trial coming from last and leading in his Muswellbrook heat. Aroha Stone was caught wide throughout in the Listed Woodlands Stakes on debut. Trialling well.

Bet: Leantothemoon to win

RACE 3: 4YO&UP MAIDEN HANDICAP (1300m)

Altair I Am worked home into fifth over 1150m when resuming on the Kensington last campaign. Caught wide before pressing on to lead at the 800m when a length fifth to Alcabeel over 1400m at Newcastle second-up. Given an easy trial at Rosehill on Oct 4. Rennata closed strongly for third behind Cosmeena when resuming over 1250m at Newcastle on Oct 1. Again strong late when a length third at Coonamble. Drops in weight. Lucky Force ran a bold race at $31 first-up when beaten a neck by French Ruler after leading at Newcastle on Oct 5.

Bet: Altair I Am to win

RACE 4: 4YO&UP MAIDEN PLATE (1500m)

Kotaishi was easy in the market when he came from last to finish fourth behind Llewellyn when resuming over 1400m on a heavy track at Kembla on Sept 28. Up to 1500m and placed over 1550m at Canterbury last campaign. Space Ace was backed from $2.35 into $1.90 and led before finishing just over a half-length second to Noble One at Canberra on debut. Will be better for the experience. Al Flores has finished just behind the placegetters in both runs here this time in. Won’t be far away again.

Bet: Kotaishi to win

RACE 5: BENCHMARK 68 HANDICAP (2000m)

Extreme Freedom was caught wide and rolled to three-deep without cover and showed plenty of tenacity when a half-length second to El Castello in a Randwick Midway on Sept 21. Three-wide with cover when third to State Of America over 1800m in another Randwick Midway on Oct 5. Ready to go to 2000m for the first time. Flying Bandit was fifth to El Castello then was good in finishing second in that same Randwick Midway behind State Of America. Fleet Commander was good winning here last start.

Bet: Extreme Freedom to win

RACE 6: MIDWAY BENCHMARK 64 HANDICAP (1600m)

Rolling Magic did it tough out wide first-up when second to Magic Shadow at Newcastle over 1250m. Bounced back with two solid wins when stepping up to 1400m at Newcastle and 1600m here. Devine Outcast was slow away from an inside gate and settled well back before making ground when fifth to Fugitiva at Kembla on Oct 3 before backing up nine days later when a handy second to Zenmaster over 1600m. Magicon will be better for his first-up fifth to Hellfire Express at Newcastle on Oct 1.

Bet: Rolling Magic to win

RACE 7: F&M BENCHMARK 64 HANDICAP (1100m)

Glorioso was three-wide early then pushed four-wide near the 700m before finishing a length-and-a-half third to Useapin when resuming at this track and distance on Oct 10. Stays in the same grade and drawn to get a much better run. Fragrant Cloud showed brilliant early speed to cross from barrier 13 before kicking away on straightening to score by nearly two lengths on debut over 1000m at Goulburn. Ellipsis was a big winner on debut at Bathurst before a fourth to Zoubaby in a Bm68 at Warwick Farm.

Bet: Glorioso to win

RACE 8: CG&E BENCHMARK 64 HANDICAP (1100m)

Mr Rock It has won since last December but has run some handy races in that time. Resumed with a third behind King Gutho over 1010m at Moruya. Drawn to get a nice run. Cassiel rolled to the front before cruising away to win his Randwick trial by nearly four lengths on Sept 9. Resumes here and was a debut winner. Insist is better than his latest run at Warwick Farm. Chance on first-up Kembla win.

Bet: Mr Rock It each-way
