Godolphin star Anamoe to meet Zaaki, Alligator Blood and more in Group 1 Might And Power Stakes

Godolphin superstar Anamoe can add his name to an elite group by winning Group 1s in three consecutive starts when he takes on seven rivals in Saturday’s Group 1 Might And Power Stakes (2000m) at Caulfield.
The James Cummings-trained four-year-old heads to Melbourne for the first time this spring after claiming the Winx Stakes and George Main Stakes in style to start his preparation.
Australia’s leading jockey James McDonald will make the trip down to Melbourne to pilot the future stallion, which jumps from barrier three on the weekend.
He will need to beat five-individual Group 1 winners to salute again, all of which ran in the Underwood Stakes last start.
The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained Alligator Blood won the Underwood beating home Annabel Neashma’s star duo Mo’unga and Zaaki. All three will line up again.
Golden Eagle victor I’m Thunderstuck and Doncaster Mile winner Mr Brightside both missed the placings in the Underwood but can bounce back on Saturday.
Nonconformist is also set to go around while the John O’Shea-trained Benaud will travel down from Sydney after missing last week’s Metropolitan due to a treatment error.
