FOUR-PLAY: $200 BETTING STRATEGY

RACE 3: LISTED CAP D’ANTIBES STAKES (1100m)

$25 each-way BELLATRIX STAR (2) at $18/$4.40

No knock on the favourites DRIFTING (1) and BOLD BASTILLE (4) specifically but with so much speed at the front the race the contest could lend itself to a filly getting home late. Bellatrix Star made up late ground last start in the Group 3 Quezette Stakes to run fifth, beaten nearly three lengths. Drawn nicely and could fire second-up although her career peak to date came third-up last campaign in New Zealand. Might need one more. Either way, happy to nibble at the price each-way.

RACE 5: GROUP 3 ARCHER STAKES (2500m)

$50 win BERKSHIRE BREEZE (6) at $3.70

Sitting duck last start at Flemington when HORRIFYING (3) finished over the top of the progressive stayer and bolted clear for a comfortable win. Berkshire Breeze should get ideal conditions on Saturday with DASHING DUCHESS (1), Horrifying and HIT THE ROAD JACK (7) likely to vie for the early lead. Mindful of POINT KING (4), smart winner first-up, and MOSTLY CLOUDY (4) but Berkshire Breeze primed for a strong performance in the Melbourne Cup qualifier.

RACE 7: GROUP 2 LET’S ELOPE STAKES (1400m)

$25 each-way GRINZINGER BELLE (14) at $19/$5

Doesn’t win out of turn – two of 11 starts and placed four times – but first-up has been the mare’s go in the past. The four-year-old won a Group 3 fresh at Flemington last campaign at odds, settling behind the speed and sprinting clear late from a wide barrier. Could history repeat? Damian Lane should be able to cross and find a position within striking distance on Saturday and in a relatively open race looks a good each-way proposition.

RACE 9: GROUP 2 BOBBIE LEWIS QUALITY (1200m)

$25 each-way ARKANSAW KID (10) at $9.50/$3

Short-priced favourite last Saturday at The Valley but dwelt at the start and hurried along to travel outside the speed. Stuck to the task and looked like he would do just enough to win until A Little Deep surged past over the concluding stages. Jockey Craig Newitt aboard on Saturday so expect Arkansaw Kid to fly the gates and be hard to beat, drawn the grandstand side of the straight.

QUADZILLA

LEG 1 - RACE 7

QUINTESSA (1) returned with a win at Caulfield a fortnight ago at double figure odds despite being a Group 1 winner in New Zealand. Well in the market second-up and from a middle draw should be incredibly hard to hold out again. South Australian raider SEE YOU IN HEAVEN (3) won first-up and then got a bit far out of her ground second up. A definite threat. GRINZINGER BELLE (5) no slouch. A track and distance winner first-up last campaign from a wide draw. Include LADY JONES (9).

1ST LEG: 1, 3, 5, 9

LEG 2 - RACE 8

MR BRIGHTSIDE (1) found only one better last start in the Group 1 Memsie Stakes and looks incredibly hard to hold out here. Should land in a lovely spot and as long as PRIDE OF JENNI (6) doesn’t have a picnic in front, the Mr B chorus line could be in full voice. VIA SISTINA (8) must be respected, a dual hemisphere Group 1 winner coming off a brilliant first-up success in the Winx Stakes. Staggered if anything other than the top three wins.

2ND LEG: 1, 6, 8

LEG 3 - RACE 9

SANS DOUTE (12) went super in the Listed Carlyon Stakes (1000m) at The Valley and the form certainly stacked up with winner Mornington Glory going on to claim the Group 1 Moir Stakes (1000m) next start. Sans Doute much better suited at 1200m on Saturday and boasts a perfect Flemington straight record (4-4). BUENOS NOCHES (4) at his best would blow the doors off them. Been a while but respect. RIGHT TO PARTY (9) has emerged as a Flemington specialist with three consecutive wins at the track. Include ARKANSAW KID (10).

3RD LEG: 4, 9, 10, 12

LEG 4 - RACE 10

POSITIVITY (11) could not have done any more first-up, looked the winner but found one better as the leader, in-form Rise At Dawn, responded under pressure for a tenacious victory. Drawn out a query but smart mare going places. BERKELEY SQUARE (6) has won and placed second-up previously, might want slightly further again but include among the better chances. Stablemates SHAIYHAR (16) and BRAYDEN STAR (8) not without a chance.

FOURTH LEG: 6, 8, 11, 16
