QUADZILLA WITH BRAD WATERS

LEG 1: RACE 7

The quaddie starts with a tricky leg in the Cockram Stakes. CASTE (13) is the top pick but WROTE TO ARATAKI (2) and SKYBIRD (3) must go in despite being first-up at Group 3 level. WOLLOMBI (6), EXTRATWO (8), FORTUNATE KISS (9) and EXPRESSIVENESS (12) can all go in as well in a wide first leg.

1ST LEG: 2, 3, 6, 8, 9, 13

LEG 2: RACE 8

The Heatherlie Stakes is the second leg with another wide leg required. POSITIVITY (14) could add value first-up at double-figure odds but MUNHAMEK (1) and JIMMY THE BEAR (5) must go in dropping class for this. QUE TEMPESTA (2) is an import that has gone well at the jumpouts while RISE AT DAWN (13) is racing well and has the minimum weight.

2ND LEG: 1, 2, 5, 13, 14

LEG 3: RACE 9

After going wide in the first two legs, sticking with the favourites is needed in order to preserve some space for a tough finale. MR BRIGHTSIDE (1) and PRIDE OF JENNI (7) are the two class runners and have a class edge on their rivals. Expecting those two to fight out the Memsie Stakes.

3RD LEG: 1, 7

LEG 4: RACE 10

Plenty of chances in the last, especially after the barrier draw. HERE TO SHOCK (1) and ANOTHER WIL (2) have both drawn wide but the pair have the ability to threaten first-up despite their gates. BERKELEY SQUARE (4) is a talented galloper that has raced well over 1400m and could go well fresh. South Australian Derby winner COCO SUN (3) is also worth including in an open race along with JENNILALA (11) and SNOWMAN (16).

4TH LEG: 1, 2, 3, 4, 11, 16

COST $100 FOR 28%

SKINNY QUADDIE

Hard to trim down the skinny quaddie too much in the early legs but CASTE (13), WROTE TO ARATAKI (2) and EXTRATWO (8) could start it well for us. Cutting the second leg back to four with MUNHAMEK (1), QUE TEMPESTA (2), JIMMY THE BEAR (5) and POSITIVITY (14) going in. No change to the third leg with MR BRIGHTSIDE (1) and PRIDE OF JENNI (7) the top picks in the Memsie Stakes. Going with three runners in the last with HERE TO SHOCK (1), ANOTHER WIL (2) and BERKELEY SQUARE (4) to hopefully bring home a dividend.

1ST LEG: 2, 8, 13

2ND LEG: 1, 2, 5, 14

3RD LEG: 1, 7

4TH LEG: 1, 2, 4

COST $100 FOR 138%

FOUR-PLAY: BRAD WATERS $50 BETTING STRATEGY

RACE 1: BENCHMARK 84 HANDICAP (1400m)

$25 win RUMBLED AGAIN (2) at $13 and $25 win SASSY BOOM (3) at $4.60

Hoping to get an early return at Caulfield on two mares that have performed well at the jumpouts. Sassy Boom was a Group 2 winner over the Caulfield 1400m course in the autumn and is a first-up winner. Rumbled Again is yet to win first-up but she likes 1400m and trialled well against Pride Of Jenni at Cranbourne leading up to this.

RACE 7: GROUP 3 COCKRAM STAKES (1200m)

$25 each-way CASTE (13) at $12/$3.80

Caste will be a lot fitter for her first-up effort in the Listed Regal Roller Stakes. She got too far back but closed well to finish just over three lengths from the winner Arkansaw Kid. Caste has finished in the first two at both second-up runs and should be charging home late.

RACE 8: LISTED HEATHERLIE STAKES (1700m)

$25 each-way POSITIVITY (14) at $12/$3.40

Positivity was placed in the New Zealand Oaks in March before winning at Group 3 level in Adelaide at her last run before a spell. She’s bred to go to another level as a four-year-old so the Andrew Forsman-trained Positivity could be primed to fire first-up in the Heatherlie Stakes.

RACE 10: BENCHMARK 100 HANDICAP (1400m)

$25 each-way BERKELEY SQUARE (4) at $21/$5

Berkeley Square hit top form at Caulfield during the autumn and he has won a couple of races over 1400m. With some of the top chances drawn poorly, the Dan O’Sullivan-trained five-year-old could have the chance to produce a late charge to the line.
