BEST BET
Race 4 No.8: Soho Sushi
Nearly broke 56sec for 1000m with a brilliant first-up win a Queanbeyan. She will be hard to catch again.
NEXT BEST
Race 1 No.7: Adventure Seeker
Resumes after an impressive barrier trial win and should get favourite backers off to a winning start.
VALUE BET
Race 6 No.4: Airliner
Is working his way back to form and the way he closed off his race at the Sapphire Coast when just behind the placegetters was a good pointer for this race.

Adventure Seeker was runner-up on debut at Moruya in a three-start race campaign during spring and resumes off an impressive barrier trial win here two weeks ago. She did a few things wrong in the trial but was far too good for her rivals. A daughter of Arrowfield’s boom stallion The Autumn Sun, she is a half-sister to this season’s brilliant two-year-old North England. She looks too good for this field. Cammi is a four-year-old mare who was runner-up in successive Moruya starts before her unplaced run at the Sapphire Coast. She deserves another chance. First Class Baby ran last on debut but she was held up for a run most of the way down the straight and could be the big improver. Beograd Boy is a maiden after 34 starts but his recent form is sound.
Bet: Adventure Seeker to win
Sweet Patriot led for a long way at Nowra when resuming before being run down to finish second then had her chances but tried when a close fourth at Port Macquarie. Her best form is on rain-affected tracks including a second at Warwick Farm but she has also been placed at the provincials on a firm track. Sweet Patriot gets her chance to break her maiden. Ichyros has been placed in all five starts this preparation and deserves to break through. Anne has done enough in two Rosehill trials to suggest she will be competitive on debut. Sculptor is fitter and can improve.
Bet: Sweet Patriot to win, watch betting moves for Sculptor
Tjaka is resuming but she showed promise in her debut preparation last spring including a very good debut win at Canberra where she stormed the field after being last on the turn. She then ran a close second at Albury before being given her chance in a Randwick Highway and finished down the track. Tjaka has shown she can sprint well fresh and will go close. Aegipan was good last start scoring comfortably from Ichyros and he rates highly again. Love The Cube won his maiden at the provincials in a promising three-start debut campaign nearly a year ago but his two recent trial efforts indicate he is coming up well for his return to racing. Ditterich has good natural speed and will give himself every chance.
Bet: Box trifecta 1,2,5,6
Soho Sushi was very impressive at Queanbeyan first-up, shouldering 60.5kg when leading throughout and scoring by two lengths, recording a brilliant 56.01sec for the 1000m. She can only be fitter for that run, she’s up in grade but drops 4kg and will be hard to run down. Helluva Teen has barrier nine and is drawn immediately to the outside of Soho Sushi which will make for an interesting speed battle. Helluva Teen is an improving filly chasing a hat-trick of wins after scoring at Orange and Cowra. Plaza didn’t have much luck at Bathurst after winning well at Moruya and she is one of the main chances. Miss Emma has had a change of stables since being placed at Doomben last October and should be in the mix.
Bet: Soho Sushi to win, saver on Plaza
Crazy Atom is holding her form over an extended summer campaign that included her easy Sapphire Coast win before successive seconds at Queanbeyan. She was unlucky not to win last start and is the one to beat here. But this looks a competitive race with It Is To Be coming off a dominant maiden win at Wagga and certain to be competitive despite going up in grade. Big Time Charlie nearly led throughout in similar grade at Albury and a repeat effort puts him in the finish. Flashy Icon finally gets out to a suitable distance.
Bet: Crazy Atom each way, box trifecta 1,3,4,6
One of the hardest races on the program. Airliner has only won once in 14 starts but he’s got ability and indicated another win was imminent when he made a stack of ground to finish just behind the placegetters at the Sapphire Coast. He should be in the finish. Super Sunny Seeya took a while to wind up but then charged home to just miss at Wagga. He will be suited going out to 1300m. Wonder Brahma burst through late to finish the closest of thirds when resuming at Parkes and he will add value to multiples. Spirits Burn Deep is better suited this grade.
Bet: Airliner to win, box trifecta 3,4,7,8
Hurstville Zagreb, a half-brother to 2023 WATC Derby winner Awesome John, makes his debut after some promising barrier trial efforts in recent weeks. He ran on strongly for second to speedy Dekiru at Hawkesbury then again finished fast for second to Karmado at Hawkesbury. The form out of that Hawkesbury trial has stood up and 1500m at Goulburn will suit Hurstville Zagreb. Eyespy The Eagle has the benefit of race experience after shaping promisingly on debut when fourth at Newcastle. The Bullet is improving with racing and Pierant is fitter for that recent unplaced Newcastle effort.
Bet: Hurstville Zagreb to win
Money Team settled on speed and was strong late to score a half length win in a Wyong maiden when resuming. Drawn a little awkwardly but strips fitter for that first-up win and will go close. Savoldi is drawn outside of Money Team but is also likely to go forward and race on the pace. He tired late at Newcastle but will be improved by the run. Maybe Maureen stays under notice after a solid first-up run and Can’t Touch This is drawn to get all the favours.
Bet: Money Team to win
