WINGER Daniel Arzani admitted that a World Cup unveiling against France has done wonders for his confidence, and is ready to contribute as the Socceroos seek revenge.
Russia 2018’s youngest player could not influence the game, in his six minutes plus stoppage time after replacing Robbie Kruse, but displayed promising flashes.
The World Cup minutes tie him to the Socceroos, after Iran – the country of his birth – showed interest, and Arzani admitted he was thrilled to feature.
“It’s very good, it does wonders for (your confidence). Really good. You’ve got to treat your opponent with respect but not too much – it’s just like playing against anyone else,’’ Arzani said.
“I was all right (not nervous), I was just excited to get on to the field. There was a lot of Aussie fans out there and it was really good to see almost half the stadium Aussies and it’s such a long trip and thank you to everyone who came out.

“I wanted to make an impact, try and create something for the team but you can only do so much when you’re on the field for a certain amount of time so I was trying my hardest but it was very disappointing in the end, especially considering how well we played throughout the whole game.
“We just have to see how the gaffer (coach) is thinking. If he wants to bring me on, then yeah I’ll try my hardest to come off the bench and give the team something extra (against Denmark and Peru).”
Arzani was riding every tackle, goal and VAR decision on the bench with his teammates, declaring they were stiff not to get anything from the match at Kazan Arena.
“Very disappointed I think we should’ve got a lot more out of the game. We were very unlucky to come away with a 2-1 (loss),’’ he said.
“We’ve shown that we can go par to par with the biggest teams in the world and I think we’ve done very well. we’ve done ourselves very proud, but then also very disappointing in the end because we didn’t get the outcome we wanted.”
