SOCCEROO Aaron Mooy missed his Premier League side Huddersfield Town’s visit to champions Manchester City on Sunday night with his wife Nicola going into labour before the game.
Midfielder Mooy, who played all three games for Australia at the World Cup, was a starter for Huddersfield in their Premier League opener last weekend, a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Chelsea.
But he missed the Manchester City match (City beat Huddersfield 6-1) to be by his wife’s side, with his manager David Wagner saying, “There are some things that are more important than football and that is the case for (Aaron Mooy) today.”
Early on Monday morning, Mooy posted a photo of his new son on Instagram with the caption, “Lovely to meet you son. Great job Nicola Mooy.”
Mooy and Nicola married last year. They also have a daughter, Skylar.
