Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish tests positive to coronavirus but remains asymptomatic’
Sir Kenny Dalglish, who starred as a player and then manager over 15 years at Liverpool before returning to Anfield for a second stint in charge, has been diagnosed with coronavirus, although he is currently ‘asymptomatic’.

Liverpool great Sir Kenny Dalglish has tested positive for coronavirus but “remains asymptomatic”, his family says.
The 69-year-old former Celtic, Liverpool and Scotland player was admitted to hospital earlier this week for a “treatment of an infection which required intravenous antibiotics”.
“In keeping with current procedures, he was subsequently tested for COVID-19 despite having previously displayed no symptoms of the illness.

Unexpectedly, the test result was positive but he remains asymptomatic,” Dalglish’s family said in a statement released by English Premier League leaders Liverpool.
“Prior to his admission to hospital, Sir Kenny had chosen to voluntarily self isolate for longer than the advised period together with his family.
“He would urge everyone to follow the relevant government and expert guidance in the days and weeks ahead.”
Managers not included in talks over potential EPL return
League Managers Association chief executive Richard Bevan has slammed the English Football League for snubbing bosses over the plan to finish the season amid the coronavirus crisis.
Clubs in the Championship, League One and League Two were sent a letter by the Football League this week revealing that the governing body hope to complete the season this summer despite the on-going pandemic.
Football League chiefs believe they can finish the season in 56 days once it is safe to resume after the virus spread halted the campaign last month.
But it is believed some players and managers are concerned by the risks of that plan and Bevan insists bosses should have been consulted.
“You’re going to have to get the support of the coaches and managers. You do not do that by not talking to them,” Bevan said.
“You do not get the end-product or working together if you just send a letter out without actually taking their advice or thoughts.
“You’re going to have to get the goodwill of the players because you’re going to have at least three weeks of training to get back on the pitch at least.
“The most important thing guiding every principle is health, and getting back on the pitch without ensuring fully-fit players is a very big call to make. I would like to see more debate.”
‘Cristiano did solely a few minutes of exercise’
Portuguese officials have defended Cristiano Ronaldo after he left home and was seen training with other people at a football pitch amid a national lockdown to stem the coronavirus outbreak.
The incident occurred on the island of Madeira, Ronaldo’s birthplace. He was observed shooting a ball at a goal with someone playing goalkeeper, along with two other people.
They all appeared to be several meters apart.
“Cristiano did solely a few minutes of exercise and from that comes no harm to the world,” Madeira regional health authority spokesman Carlos Ramos said.
“All citizens can go out and do some physical exercise as long as they do not gather in big groups and keep their distance from other people they may encounter while exercising.
“So I think that Cristiano did only what we have seen.”
Portugal has been under a state of emergency for three weeks.
