LIVERPOOL has named a strong squad for its post-season friendly against Sydney FC, with Philippe Coutinho, Emre Can and the injured duo of Jordan Henderson and Sadio Mane the only significant omissions from the 25-man group.
Less than three days after securing a top four finish in the Premier League, Liverpool will take on Sydney FC at ANZ Stadium on Wednesday night, with the likes of Adam Lallana, Georginio Wijnaldum and Roberto Firmino all available for selection.
Vice-captain James Milner, veteran midfielder Lucas Leiva and strikers Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi will also travel Down Under and manager Jurgen Klopp will be able to call upon the services of club icons Steven Gerrard, Jamie Carragher, Steve McManaman and Daniel Agger for the match. The four retired Reds have all been included in the squad as part of Liverpool’s 125th anniversary celebrations.

Coutinho and Can have been left out of the squad due to international commitments. Coutinho will visit Australia with the Brazilian national team in June, while Can could feature for Germany against the Socceroos at the Confederations Cup in the same month in Russia.
Captain Henderson has been nursing a heel injury since February, while star winger Mane underwent knee surgery in April.
