CRYSTAL Palace defender Pape Souare will be out for around six months after breaking his thigh bone in a car crash, the English Premier League club said on Friday.

The 26-year-old is expected to be released from hospital on Saturday, six days after being flown following a motorway crash in London.

“It was a broken thigh,” Palace manager Alan Pardew said.

“There will be a rod through that bone. That should repair stronger. In four, five or six months, he should be up and running again.

“I’m not really clear of the details of the accident. We love Pape and can’t wait to have him back.”

Souare, who joined Palace in January 2015, has made 46 EPL appearances since his move from French club Lille.

Palace host Stoke City on Sunday at 11:15pm (AEST).
