The Aussie invasion of England is steamrolling to new heights with Sydney FC stalwart Chloe Logarzo set to make a switch to Bristol City in the FA Women’s Super League.
The Matildas midfielder will link up with Sam Kerr (Chelsea), Jacynta Galabadaarachchi (West Ham) and Hayley Raso (Everton) in the English league, marking a tidal wave of Australian talent in demand in Europe.
Logarzo will move for a transfer fee once the Matildas’ qualification matches for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games in China are over, with the Sky Blues set to complete a move for an overseas FIFA Women’s World Cup player in the coming days.

Logarzo had interest from England and France dating back to late last year and her performances for Australia and at the FIFA Women’s World Cup put her on the European radar.
She joins Australian coach Tanya Oxtoby at the club that is battling relegation, coming equal last with Liverpool. The threat of relegation will be something Logarzo, and indeed all Australian players, will be experiencing for the first time.
“I just want to say thank you to Sydney FC for all of the years of fantastic football they’ve given me,” Logarzo said. “I’ve played with some amazing people and played under some fabulous coaches and members of staff.
“I’d like to thank and credit them for helping me to achieve this opportunity to play professionally in England.
“I leave with a heavy heart but only to improve my game and I would love to think that I will be back one day to represent the girls in Sky Blue again.”
The move marks an exodus of Australian international talent that is exiting the W-League, with debate heating up about how the women’s league in Australia will plug the gaps left by marquee talent going overseas.
Sydney FC teammate Caitlin Foord could potentially join the list of Aussies in England having been linked to a transfer to Arsenal earlier this month. CEO Danny Townsend confirmed they had been in contact with the English giants and received a transfer offer for the Matildas forward.
“An offer has come through from Arsenal for Caitlin,” Townsend said.
The Olympic qualifiers will be at the forefront of Logarzo’s mind as she prepares in Sydney for crunch matches against Chinese Taipei (February 3), Thailand (February 6) and China (February 9) for a spot at Tokyo 2020.
