Twitter reaction to the naming of the Ashes team for First Test
TIM Paine plucked from nowhere, Shaun Marsh recalled for the eighth time. Twitter explodes, yet again.

TIM Paine has been plucked from who knows where to make his return to the Australian team as the first choice wicketkeeper for the Ashes series.
Shaun Marsh has also been given yet another crack much to the bemusement of many cricket fans who thought he and his brother Shaun may have run out of chances. Obviously not.
Both selections have set the Twitterverse alight, unsurprisingly, as we all start to question whether the selectors are watching the same game as the rest of us.
But, as Twitter is also a font of knowledge, it has provided such insights as this being the eighth time Marsh has been recalled to the Test team and that his lone Ashes Test was at Trent Bridge in 2015 when Stuart Broad captured 8/15.
The people don’t seem happy at all.

Great to hear that Shaun Marsh will finally get a chance to show his wares for Australia. The kid could be anything

Find someone who loves you the way the Aussie selectors love Shaun Marsh.

Meanwhile, if my maths is correct (and if the squad is accurate) I make this the eighth time Shaun Marsh has been recalled to the Test team.

Shaun Marsh has only played one Ashes Test. It was this one... pic.twitter.com/bi8AgdYJ5z

Given the shock selection of Tim Paine for the 1st test- I wonder how close this bloke was to grabbing the number 6 /all-rounder role?@TenNewsSydney @breenie9

I've been bleating for a decade that Tim Paine is the best gloveman in the country. The way his selection came about is totally ridiculous, but he's a good selection.

Hard to get your head around Tim Paineâs selection as âkeeper for the Ashes ... has not kept this season for Tasmania in the Sheffield Shield & only did it in three games last season & has just one first-class century to his name #Ashes2017
â Glenn Mitchell (@MitchellGlenn) November 16, 2017
If Tim Paine doesn't keep for Australia for atleast 3 years then it's going to be a very embarrassing selection by @CricketAus

For what it's worth I don't mind this Ashes Team. Think it looks strong. But Tim Paine's lack of game time this summer in prep for something like this makes absolutely zero sense.

There is no bigger Tim Paine fan in Australia than I, but his selection into the test side does not add up. Neville's shield form has panels
â BBR (@jack1mac) November 16, 2017
I don't mind the Paine selection at all. Always thought he was up to it. Bancroft had to be picked bc of sheer weight of runs. Shaun Marsh in for Renshaw is disgraceful. How many times do you pick a bloke who has continually failed? #Ashes #SackTheSelectors
â Greg Davis (@GregDavis_cmail) November 16, 2017
Just when you thought Shaun Marshâs test career was done & dusted, low & behold its resurrected for the 32nd time.
â The Oracle (@BigOtrivia) November 16, 2017
They must still see something in him ?
Or they had no one else to pick !
If Tim Paine gets selected for the Ashes, Australia's current coach will have scored a more recent Sheffield Shield century (Nov '07) than our wicketkeeper (Oct '06).
