“I went to a few training session and it started from there,” Carly said.
“They treat me like any other player. I was out for two but it was a good experience. It’s the same game, same skills.”
Randwick Petersham President, former Test star Mike Whitney, could not be prouder.
Leeson was named Female Country Cricketer of the Year in back-to-back years.
“Carly has now carved herself a place in the rich and proud history of our club, Whitney said, “We see her as the first of many girls and women who will take Randwick Petersham into the future as a cricket club committed to equality and diversity.
“We want to foster and support the stunning rise of women’s cricket. At our T20 Blast for kids recently we had 47 children registered and 29 of them were girls.
“That’s 62 per cent females. It’s great for cricket and great for our club.”
