English wizz-kid Tom Banton will not line up for the Brisbane Heat in the final game of Round 2.

The big-hitter has been ruled out with a virus, spending last night in hospital with the illness. Bowling all-rounder Jack Prestwidge will replace him in the squad.

It will come as a big blow to more than 20,000 SuperCoaches following his quick-fire 64 against the Stars in his last outing.

SMOKE ABANDONED GAME PROVES COSTLY

The smoke abandoned game in Canberra left the Sydney Thunder angry and frustrated, but noone was more filthy than SuperCoaches.

The Thunder needed just four more deliveries to be bowled for the result to go to the Duckworth-Lewis method - the men in light green were comfortably ahead - and the haze also cost SuperCoaches big points from their stars.

Usman Khawaja failed to replicate his innings against the Renegades last night.

Most notably, expensive buy Rashid Khan failed to trouble the scorers, making a duck with the bat and bowling just two deliveries before play was called.

For non-owners it means the Afghani spin-king will be at a favourable price for the Strikers’ back-to-back double game rounds.

Thunder batsman Callum Ferguson had crunched 27 off 14 deliveries when the two sides went off, while Alex Hales (11 off 10) was also denied the opportunity to score more points.

Cheapie Wes Agar posted a solitary point and Matt Short managed just 13 after his brief three ball stay at the crease.

SCROLL DOWN TO SEE FOR ROUND 2 SQUADS

These poor totals made openers Usman Khawaja and Phil Salt’s own doughnuts not look so bad, with the pair both dismissed for nought.

Fortunately, Thunder all-rounders Daniel Sams and Chris Morris notched impressive totals with the ball, posting 93 and 62 points respectively. Alex Carey’s solid knock earned him 55 points.

MARSH’S POST BIG SCORES

en There was plenty of buildup to the Marsh showdown and the pair delivered with the bat. Mitch Marsh’s ballistic cameo at the end of the innings saw him reach the SuperCoach ton, blasting 56 from 22 deliveries on his way to 106 points. He even bowled to his brother, who posted a commanding 81 points himself.

Renegades paceman Kane Richardson top scored with a whopping 145 point outing after a down game in Round 1, while Englishman Chris Jordan scored 94 following some fantastic death bowling and even better catching.

Jordan and Mitch Marsh should be high on your priority list with a Round 3 double coming up.

STEYN TO MISS … AGAIN

If you held Dale Steyn – look away now.

After missing the first game of the season with a side strain, the Proteas speedster has not been named for the Stars Round 2 hitout against the Hurricanes.

It means his international replacement Haris Rauf – who was jettisoned into the side from Tasmanian premier cricket – should keep his spot in the side.

Rauf impressed with his express pace and deadly accuracy in the Stars’ opener, scoring 80 SuperCoach points and finishing with tidy figures of 2/21 from his four overs.

He looms as one of the best bowling cheapies and will set you back just $57.5k.
