Master blaster Chris Lynn has given a timely reminder of his KFC SuperCoach BBL credentials, plundering 20 sixes in an incredible grade cricket innings.

Suiting up for Toombul in Queensland’s Premier Cricket T20 competition, the Brisbane Heat marauder hammered 154 off just 55 balls, adding five boundaries to his 20 maximums.

That’s a strike rate of 280 for those playing at home, with 140 runs in boundaries.

Safe to say, there wasn’t a lot of running, former Heat teammate Matt Renshaw crunching 55 off 29 balls, with five fours and four sixes.

Once first-picked, Lynn, who has made the most runs on Big Bash history, could be on the nose with some KFC SuperCoaches this season, after a feast or famine BBL09 that featured only two half centuries from 14 innings and eight dismissals for 14 or less.

The 30-year-old starts BBL10 at a now-juicy $131,900 and might have been a potential POD - were it not for his innings, which helped Toombul to 6/266, scraping home when Sunshine Coast piled on 7/248, the less-heralded Blake Maher continuing the fireworks with 109 off 43 balls.

KFC SuperCoach BBL Q&A

SUPERCOACH INTEL: THE KEY NUMBERS VITAL TO BBL SUCCESS

We’re less than a month away from the start of BBL10 and it’s time to start getting your KFC SuperCoach team sorted.

And if you’re not across how all of the incoming BBL players are performing across the world, you’ve come to the right place.

From the Sheffield Shield to the IPL and CPL, here are all the standout performances and numbers you need to know.

SHEFFIELD SHIELD

A number of KFC SuperCoach-relevant names have showed their wares with the red ball in the opening four rounds of the Shield.

Will Pucovski (Stars)

495 runs at 247.50, High Score: 255.

Everyone knows who Will Pucovski is. If you don’t, he’s the 22-year-old star-in-the-making, who’s been named in Australia’s Test squad after amassing 495 runs in his three Shield innings this season.

Sean Abbott (Sixers)

261 runs at 130.5, High Score: 102*.

14 wickets 17.92.

The NSW gun is doing it all, ranking third for wickets and 14th for runs in the opening four rounds of the competition. He’s a BBL star, too, making his position in the Test squad the only thing getting in the way of him being a must-have.

Shaun Marsh (Renegades)

485 runs at 97, HS: 134.

Marsh was the 5th-highest run-scorer in last summer’s BBL and his red-ball form has been outstanding again, with the left-hander posting three centuries so far.

Cam Green (Scorchers)

485 runs at 97, HS: 134

2 wickets at 36.5.

Along with Pucovski, Green has been the talk of Australian cricket this year. He’s back bowling – albeit just 24 overs in his four Shield games – and he smashed 197 with the bat against NSW in October.

Josh Inglis (Scorchers)

354 runs at 118, HS: 153.

Two big scores – 153 and 125 – has the Scorchers keeper and opening batsman rocketing up the KFC SuperCoach BBL watchlist.

Mitch Swepson (Heat)

23 wickets at 21.17.

The up-and-coming spinner, who is a big chance for a Baggy Green this summer, has taken eight more wickets than any other bowler in the Sheffield Shield.

Other numbers of note

Sam Whiteman (Scorchers) and Moises Henriques (Sixers) have both scored two centuries.

Nathan Ellis (Hurricanes) is the equal-third leading wicket taker with 12.

Will Sutherland (Renegades) has taken 2/61, 3/26 and 1/69 in his three Shield innings.

With Ashton Agar missing, D’Arcy Short (Hurricanes) bowled 28 overs for WA in their most-recent outing, but finished with just one wicket.

Strikers recruit Matt Renshaw posted an unbeaten 168 against SA in the final Shield clash before the break, while QLD teammate Usman Khawaja (Thunder) scored 131 and 46*.

T20 VITALITY BLAST – ENGLAND

A number of big performances from incoming BBL guns, coupled with a starring display from an Aussie veteran has made the recent T20 tournament in England a vital part of the KFC SuperCoach pre-season.

Will Jacks (Hurricanes)

309 runs at 34.33, Strike rate: 149

13 wickets at 16.07, Economy: 6.46.

And it all starts with the 21-year-old Englishman, who was named player of the Vitality Blast after a brilliant all-round display for Surrey. Jacks, who clubbed a century of just 25 balls in a practice match in Dubai last year, will play for the Hurricanes in BBL10.

Jason Roy (Perth)

206 runs at 41.20, Striker rate: 131.

After a number of stints with the Sydney Sixers, one of England’s limited-overs stars has signed with Perth Scorchers for this summer’s BBL. The one-day opener struggled in the recent three-match series against Australia but he posted three half-centuries from his five innings in the Vitality Blast, including an impressive 66 of 47 in the final.

Will Liam Livingstone, right, return to the BBL this summer?

Liam Livingstone (Perth)

192 runs at 27.42, Strike rate: 156

9 wickets at 21. Economy: 7.53

The big-hitting right-hander was the sixth-highest run scorer in his first appearance in the BBL last season. But despite plenty of hype around his bowling in the shortest form of the game, he didn’t feature prominently with the ball for the scorchers. However, that could change after Livingstone, again, impressed with the ball in the Vitality Blast.

Joe Clarke (Scorchers)

371 runs at 37, SR: 175. HS: 100*

2 50s. – 5th highest scorer

The Scorchers recruit who will fly into replace fellow Englishman Jason Roy for the start of BBL10 was the fifth-highest run scorer in the Vitality Blast. Clarke’s unbeaten century off 44 balls - an innings which included eight sixes - was one of the higlights of the tournament.

Danny Briggs (Strikers)

12 wickets at 20, Econ: 6.55

Briggs looks set to be available for the entire tournament and that’s huge for KFC SuperCoach BBL, given the the 29-year-old has taken more wickets (172) than any other bowler in England’s T20 domestic competition.

Dan Christian (Sixers)

9 wickets at 30.

The former Aussie one-day all-rounder has moved to the Sixers and, after taking 4/23 and being named player of the match in the Vitality Blast final, there’s still KFC SuperCoach BBL life left in the 37-year-old.

Alex Hales (Thunder)

202 at 18.36. SR: 164.

The hard-hitting Englishman has had a tough year after being the first in world cricket to contract COVID-19. He struggled to find form in the Vitality Blast but the second-highest run-scorer in BBL09 is on his way back to Australian, re-signing with the Thunder.

Indian Premier League

Nicholas Pooran (Renegades)

353 runs at 35.30, Strike rate: 169, HS: 77

The West Indies T20 star, who smashed the third-fastest century in the history of the Carribean Premium League, smacking off 100 off 45 balls, starred in the recent IPL. The Renegades recruit’s quickfire 77 - off 37 balls - against Sunrisers Hyderabad was the highlight.

Marcus Stoinis (Stars)

352 runs at 25, SR: 148, HS: 65

13 wickets at 21.76

The star allrounder was the standout Aussie in this year’s tournament with his recent form another reason he looms as a must-have for the Stars’ Round 1 double.

Jonny Bairstow (Stars)

345 runs at 31, SR: 126, HS: 97.

One of the world’s best limited-overs players, Bairstow pounded 97 of 55 balls for Sunrisers Hyderabad recently and looks set to open the batting for the Stars after England’s tour of South Africa.

Rashid Khan (Strikers)

20 wickets at 17.20, Economy rate: 5.37

As you can see below, the T20 master was at his unplayable best in Dubai.

Other numbers of note

He may have only taken five wickets an at average of 41, but Nathan Coulter-Nile (Stars) played a crucial role in the IPL final, taking 2-29 – with 10 dot balls – for the Mumbai Indians.
