Australia v New Zealand: Mitchell Swepson may find it hard to break into winning side at SCG

Mitchell Swepson has turned heads this week but with Australia riding a four-match winning streak and looking to sink the boot into the beleaguered Kiwis, it may not be the right time for his Test debut.

Justin Langer admits it will be hard to make a change for the third trans-Tasman Test at the SCG.

Langer was impressed with Mitchell Swepson’s work in the nets on New Year’s Day, suggesting the legspinner remains in the mix to make his debut on Friday, but wouldn’t be drawn on Australia’s likely XI.

“It’s going to be hard to make changes. That said, I think it’s really important that we wait ... and see over the next two days what the wicket looks like,” Langer said.
