There is plenty for fighters to think about before making the walk to the UFC Octagon.
But what happened on Sunday still left fans scratching their heads.
UFC middleweight Marvin Vettori held up the UFC Vegas 104 main event by close to 10 minutes because … he forgot to wear a cup.

His opponent, Roman Dolidze, was already in the Octagon ready to go and was seen pacing back and forth unsure why his opponent was taking so long.
Meanwhile, Vettori was in deep conversation with a UFC official before in bizarre scenes, his whole team then turned and walked away from the cage.
It was soon revealed that the Italian fighter had forgotten to put his cup in before making the walk and after several minutes he returned to the cage ready to fight.
Per the Unified Rules for MMA, all male UFC fighters are required to wear a cup for matches, while female athletes are not allowed to wear any groin protection.
And in the end, Vettori would feel fortunate he had one, with the fight stopped for a low blow at one point.
Incredibly it wasn’t Vettori’s first wardrobe malfunction either with the 31-year-old infamously having his shorts on backwards during a photoshoot to promote his UFC 263 middleweight title fight against Israel Adesanya.
However, in the end, the delay did little to put his opponent off his game as Dolidze won by unanimous decision.
And MMA fans were quick to rub salt into the wounds of Vettori for his wardrobe malfunction.
“Typical Marvin haha,” one fan said.
“How is that even possible,” another asked.
While a third said: “Better than backwards shorts.”
And a fourth: “He never lets an opportunity to be a dumbass go by.”
