Middleweight boxer Michael Zerafa is “Hunting Horn’’ as he aims for an early knockout in today’s annual Melbourne Cup.

Zerafa stopped ex-world champ Jeff Horn at Bendigo Stadium in August and is favoured to do it again in Brisbane on December 18.

However he is ready to clean up in the Cup today with outsider Hunting Horn, the Irish stallion trained by Aiden O’Brien.

Hunting Horn picked up prizemoney of $311,000 for his late dash to win the Group II Moonee Valley Gold Cup last week and “Pretty Boy’’ Zerafa is looking to collect $1150 by backing the five-year-old to win at Flemington today and another $300 for the place.

The horse will carry 55kg in the Cup while Horn will carry the hopes of Queensland boxing fans into the Zerafa rematch at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre.

Zerafa scored a knockout in the ninth round in their first fight, with Horn promising to sharpen his preparation to turn the tables in the rematch.
